What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Laura trained Euan Drummond and Ailsa Pringle on the admin console, connector alerts and the dashboards builder. Adoption had grown since the last session, and the customer left with clear actions.
What happened: Laura Penhaligon covered the admin console, connector health and failure alerts, then built a four-tile employer dashboard with Euan and Ailsa.
Customer view: Ailsa said more client managers are logging in and some ask chat questions every day. Euan said the session was very clear and called the dashboard pretty good.
Commercial: This uses the Growth dashboards builder and shows early investment by the customer. Ailsa wants fees on the dashboard because she currently has to ask finance for them.
Watch: Admin rights sit mostly with Euan, so a backup admin is needed. Euan noted they change the CRM fairly often, which can break a connector.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Euan to set failure alerts, share the inactive users list and name a backup admin.
- Ailsa to test the employer dashboard on her own clients this week and feed back to Euan.
- Laura to send a written summary of the steps followed.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Admin rights sit mostly with Euan, a key-person risk until a backup is named.
- Frequent CRM changes could break a connector and leave data stale.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- A shared employer dashboard including fees could extend use across the client managers.
- Inactive users can be nudged to raise use of the forty licensed seats.
Transcript
- Laura PenhaligonMorning both. Can you hear me? Ailsa, I can see you, Euan, I think you're still joining.
- Ailsa PringleMorning Laura. Yes, I can hear you fine. Euan's just sitting down, he's been in a payroll run since the crack of dawn.
- Euan DrummondSorry, sorry. Morning. Is my sound alright? The room I'm in has terrible acoustics.
- Laura PenhaligonSounds fine to me. Good to meet you properly, Euan. Ailsa's told me you look after the payroll systems, so today I'd like to cover the admin side and then the dashboards builder.
- Euan DrummondYes, that's me. I've had a poke around already, I'll admit, but mostly I've been watching Ailsa's people use it.
- Ailsa PringleI've got quite a few more client managers logging in now, actually. Since the last session I got a few of them to try the search, and some of them are asking chat questions every day.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's great to hear. Rather more than when we last spoke, then. Euan, shall we start with the admin console? Share your screen if you like and I'll talk you through it.
- Euan DrummondRight, I'm in. I can see users, connectors and some settings. The users list is much longer than I thought.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's the people who've been invited. You have forty licensed users on Growth, and you can add or remove people here. If someone leaves, deactivate them the same day.
- Euan DrummondYes, we do that for every system anyway. Is there a way to see who's actually active?
- Laura PenhaligonThere is. Click the activity tab, it shows last login and questions asked. It's useful for spotting people who've been invited and never used it, so Ailsa can nudge them.
- Ailsa PringleOh, I'd like that. There's a few on there I bet haven't even opened the invite.
- Euan DrummondI can export that list for you, Ailsa. It's mostly the newer starters.
- Laura PenhaligonNow connectors. Click into that tab, Euan. Each connected system shows its last successful load and how many records have been indexed.
- Euan DrummondOkay, so the helpdesk and the call recorder have loaded overnight, and the CRM too. What does it look like if one breaks?
- Laura PenhaligonThe status goes amber or red and the record count stops moving. A flat count over several days is the thing to watch for, particularly if you've changed something in the source system, a field, a permission, a login.
- Euan DrummondThat's useful. We do change things in the CRM fairly often, so I'll check the connectors afterwards. Can I get an alert?
- Laura PenhaligonYou can set an email notification for failures. Turn it on under settings and put your own address in, and perhaps a shared mailbox for cover.
- Euan DrummondDone. I'll put the team mailbox in as well in case I'm off.
- Laura PenhaligonGood. And the nightly refresh should be complete before the working day starts, so if a client manager says the data looks old, check here first, then raise a ticket if it's not obvious.
- Ailsa PringleWe had one of those last month, didn't we, Euan? It turned out to be a small thing.
- Euan DrummondYes, the one ticket. It was sorted quickly, and it was down to something we'd changed on our side, not theirs.
- Laura PenhaligonOkay, let's move on to the dashboards builder. This is part of Growth, so you've got it already. Ailsa, what would you want on a dashboard if you could have anything?
- Ailsa PringleOne view per employer. Open queries, upcoming deadlines, the latest calls and what we've billed them. Basically the whole picture at a glance, because at the moment I build it in my head.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's a perfect first dashboard. Euan, let's build it together. Start a new dashboard and add a tile for open tickets.
- Euan DrummondRight, I've got open tickets. It lets me pick the employer from a drop-down, which is nice. Adding the calls tile now.
- Ailsa PringleCan it show the fees as well? That's what I always have to go and ask finance for.
- Laura PenhaligonIf the accounting data is connected, yes, you add a tile from that source. Euan, try it. The invoices will show what's been billed, but remember they only reflect what's been synced.
- Euan DrummondGot it. That's pretty good, actually. It's four tiles and it reads cleanly. Should I share it with the client managers?
- Laura PenhaligonYes, but let Ailsa test it on a few real employers first, in case a tile needs adjusting. Then publish it and tell the team.
- Ailsa PringleI'll try it this week with my own clients and feed back to Euan. If it holds up, I'd happily show the others at our team meeting.
- Euan DrummondAnd I'll sort out the inactive users list, and tidy up who has admin rights. At the moment that's mostly me, so I should probably name a backup.
- Laura PenhaligonGood idea, I'd do that. So, to recap: Euan sets the failure alerts and shares the inactive list, Ailsa tests the employer dashboard, and I'll send a written summary today with the steps we followed.
- Euan DrummondBrilliant. Thanks Laura, this was very clear.
- Ailsa PringleYes, thanks both. Really helpful. Speak soon.
- Laura PenhaligonCheers, both of you. Have a good week. Bye.
