As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Client totals were double counted because the overview showed some clients twice. The matching step merges on trading name only when company name is blank, and BG-Demo has asked engineers to review the rule.
Problem: Several clients appeared twice in the overview under a full company name and a shorter trading name, so totals double counted them. Handling: Ruth Okoro traced the cause to the matching step on the BG-Demo side and offered an exclusion option in settings as a workaround. She said she would update the customer by the end of the week. Watch: The record does not show whether the matching rule has been changed or whether the customer has been updated since 16 Sep 2026.

Several of our clients appear twice, once under the full company name and once under a shorter trading name, and the totals double count them. I checked three of them against our own list and it's the same pattern each time. Before I give a figure to one of our clients, I need to know whether this is coming from the source system or from B-Viz. Our consultants are relying on these totals, so getting it right matters more than getting it quick. Can we look at this together? Let's write down what we find so we can close it out properly. Thanks, Joanna

Could you send me the three client names you checked, and whether the duplicate rows have the same owner or different owners? That will tell me whether this is matching on our side or something in the source. Ruth
- Public reply · Joanna Platt 15 Sep 2026 11:30Hi Ruth, the three are a regional retailer, a logistics firm and a housing association. The retailer and the logistics firm have the same owner on both rows. The housing association has a different owner on each, so that one looks different. Quick one: who owns this, us or you? I need to tell the consultants whether to fix it on their side or raise it with you. Thanks, Joanna
- Public reply · Ruth Okoro 16 Sep 2026 10:36Hi Joanna, the matching step is on our side. It merges on the trading name only when the company name isn't set, which is why two of them didn't merge. I don't want to change that rule without checking the other accounts that use it, so I've asked our engineers to look. In the meantime, you can exclude the duplicate rows from the overview using the exclusion option in settings. I'll update you by the end of the week. Ruth
