What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Onboarding thread. Kamal agrees to connect finance first, confirms read-only access with himself as owner, shares a short backout plan, admits some clients appear under two codes and books Thursday at 14:00.
Ask: Laura proposes finance as the first connector because credit control wants invoices against each client early. She asks for access confirmation, a backout plan and a view on duplicate client codes.
Customer view: Kamal agrees, owns the access himself and says a few clients appear twice, usually after a site was taken over. He says he will not guess the right code.
Next: Kamal sends the doubtful clients and Laura issues the invite.

- Laura Penhaligon 30 Jun 2025 08:35Morning Kamal, Hope the weekend was a quiet one. A quick note to line up the next stage of the onboarding, following our last call. From my side, the plan is to get the first connector loading and then check the client records together, rather than connect everything at once. I think the finance system is the sensible one to go first, since credit control will want to see invoices against each client early, and it's the cleanest source of client identity. Do tell me if you'd rather start with rostering. What I need from you before we meet: - confirmation of the read-only access you mentioned, and who at Marlcliff owns it - the backout plan for the finance connection, even if it's only a few lines - a view on whether any clients appear under more than one code If you can let me know a time on Wednesday or Thursday, I'll hold it in the diary. About an hour should be enough. Thanks, Laura Laura Penhaligon Implementation Consultant, BG-Demo
- Kamal Hussein 2 Jul 2025 10:29Hi Laura, Sorry for the slow reply, I wanted to check a few things first. Finance first is fine with me. Read-only access is agreed and I'm the owner on our side. The backout plan is short: if anything looks wrong we disable the connection and nothing in the accounting system changes. I've put it in the runbook. On client codes: yes, a few clients appear twice, usually where a site was taken over from another contract. I'll check the connector output against the client list and send you the ones I'm unsure about. I won't guess which is the right one. Thursday at 14:00 suits me. Please send an invite. Kamal
