What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Gillian Thewlis said B-Viz gave her the full exposure across twenty-three branches in an afternoon when a housebuilder customer went into administration. She asked for the trade-credit view on every branch manager's page.
Ask: Gillian wants the same credit view on every branch manager's page, and asked what is involved and how long it would take. She wants Neil Craven's team comfortable with it.
Customer view: strongly positive. She called it the first time B-Viz had properly earned its keep for her team.
Next: Daniel replied on 27 Mar 2026 that it looks doable with no new connectors. He promised a plan by the middle of the following week and asked what branch managers should see.

- Gillian Thewlis 24 Mar 2026 13:59Hello Daniel, I wanted to tell you about something that happened this week, because it is the first time B-Viz has properly earned its keep for my team. One of our regional housebuilder customers went into administration. Normally that would mean a day or two of me chasing branch after branch for their open orders, deliveries and balances, and then trying to stitch it together in a spreadsheet. This time I had the whole exposure across twenty-three branches in an afternoon. Orders, deliveries, credit position and the recent calls, all against the one account. I was able to brief our finance director before the end of the day with figures I trusted, which is not something I have been able to say before. It has also made me think about who else needs to see this. At the moment the credit view is mostly something my team looks at. Branch managers are the ones taking the orders at the counter, and they are the ones who need to know when an account is on hold or when we are exposed. So my request is this: can we put the trade-credit view on every branch manager's page? I would like it to be the same for every branch, not something each manager has to go looking for. I appreciate there may be things to think about on permissions, and I would want Neil Craven's team comfortable with it too. Could you tell me what is involved and roughly how long it would take? Thanks, Gillian Gillian Thewlis Head of Trade Credit, Strensall Merchants
- Daniel Okafor 27 Mar 2026 10:47Dear Gillian, Thank you for such a clear note, and I am sorry it has taken me a couple of days to come back to you. I wanted to read it properly and talk it through with the team here first. First, I am really glad the exposure view held up on a day like that. Twenty-three branches in an afternoon is exactly what the team at Strensall brought us in to do, and it is good to hear it from the person who had to stand in front of the finance director. How is the team finding it day to day, now that the dust has settled? On your request, the short answer is yes, this looks very doable. The credit information is already in your B-Viz layer, so we would be arranging how it appears on the branch manager pages rather than connecting anything new. Two things I would like to check with you before I promise anything: - Which parts of the credit view the branch managers should see: balance and account status only, or the wider picture of orders, deliveries and calls too. - Whether Neil is happy with branch managers seeing credit positions for accounts that other branches also trade with. I will not guess at a timescale until I have spoken to our engineers, but I will come back to you by the middle of next week with a proper plan. If it is easier, we could take twenty minutes on a call with Neil to agree the points above, and I can set that up. Just to close the loop on today: I am not changing anything on your pages until we have agreed it together.
