What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026At the 16 Dec 2024 QBR, Managing Director Terry Hinchcliffe asked what Starter costs and what it returns. Four of fifteen licensed users are active. Payments are clean, and he said he would think about doing it in-house.
What happened: Daniel and Nell ran the quarterly review. Nell confirmed the order form and invoices both say £20k, with nothing overdue or disputed.
Customer view: Terry opened with cost and value, then said he was paying for fifteen users with four active. He asked whether the team could join the systems up themselves, and Jodie declined to own that work.
Commercial: This is a value question, not a money problem. The contract runs to 30 Jul 2025 with renewal on 31 Jul 2025, and Nell said Terry should have a view on value before then.
Watch: Terry's reply to the in-house question was only that he would think about it. A short session for the wider team, built around one question, was agreed for the new year, which is the main lever for adoption.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Daniel to send a recap the same day and offer session slots after the new year, avoiding the Christmas rush.
- Jodie to pull together the questions colleagues ask most often.
- Donna and Terry to report back on what changed for consultants after the session.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Only four of fifteen Starter users are active, so the Managing Director sees unused licences.
- Terry raised doing the integration in-house as an alternative to B-Viz and said he would think about it.
- The wider consultant team has not formed a habit of using B-Viz.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- A short session on the one question consultants ask most could widen adoption on their real data.
- Jodie offered to compile the questions people actually ask, giving a ready content list.
Transcript
- Daniel OkaforAfternoon, everyone, and thanks for making the time. Let me just check who's joined. Donna, I can see you. Jodie, hello. Is Terry with us?
- Donna WraggHe's here, he's just fighting his headset. Give him a sec. Right, before we start, the consultants have been moaning about the Christmas rota again, nothing to do with you, I just needed to say it out loud.
- Daniel OkaforHa, understood. Is it the same warehouse client as last time?
- Donna WraggWhich client is that? No, different one. Everyone wants shifts covered and nobody wants to be on the phone on Christmas Eve.
- Terry HinchcliffeCan you hear me? Right. Good. Afternoon.
- Nell AshcombeAfternoon, Terry. Nell here, I'm joining Daniel for this one. Before we get into it, what do you need to leave with today? Then we'll make sure we get you there.
- Terry HinchcliffeWhat's it costing us, and are we getting something for it. That's it really.
- Nell AshcombeFair. That's a good place to start. Daniel, do you want to take us through the quarter, and I'll chip in on the money.
- Daniel OkaforOf course. I'll share my screen. Can everyone see the usage page? Lovely. So just to set the scene, you're on Starter, fifteen licensed users, and the order form is for £19,500 a year. Nell, that matches what's been invoiced?
- Nell AshcombeIt does. The order form says £19,500 and the invoices say £19,500. Nothing overdue, nothing disputed. Say what happened, say how you know: I checked the accounting system this morning.
- Terry HinchcliffeGood. We pay on time. I like to.
- Daniel OkaforYou do, and it's appreciated. Right, usage. On a typical day about four people are active in B-Viz. That's steady compared with the previous quarter, so no real movement either way. Donna, how is the team finding it?
- Donna WraggHonestly, the ones who use it love it. Four of us, so me, Jodie and a couple of the senior consultants. They ask it things like what's the placement history for a client before they ring them. Saves them digging through three screens. The rest, they just haven't got into the habit.
- Daniel OkaforMm. That's useful. And when you say three screens, is that the CRM, the invoices and the call notes?
- Donna WraggYeah, that's it. Roles in the CRM, invoices from the accounting system, and then whatever someone typed after a call, if they typed anything.
- Nell AshcombeWhat would B-Viz say? If you ask it which clients rebooked in the last quarter, does it get that right for you?
- Jodie BurkinshawMostly, yes. Sorry, can I jump in? Jodie. I look after the connectors. The CRM one and the accounting one have both been running fine, the nightly refresh has been landing before the consultants start. I haven't had to raise anything for ages.
- Daniel OkaforThanks, Jodie. And that matches what I can see. No tickets in the last month, nothing high priority. Quiet from our side too, which is what we want.
- Terry HinchcliffeFour people out of fifteen, though. I'm paying for fifteen.
- Nell AshcombeYes, and I'd rather you said it than sat on it. You're right, there's headroom. Fifteen is what the Starter licence includes, and four are using it regularly. That's a fair thing to look at.
- Terry HinchcliffeCould we do it ourselves? Joining the three things up. Jodie's clever.
- Jodie BurkinshawThanks, Terry, but I wouldn't want that on my plate. I could build a report, but asking it a question in plain English is a different thing. And someone would have to keep it working.
- Nell AshcombeThat's the honest answer. You could build a report. What you'd be building and maintaining is the layer underneath it, and that's the bit we run for you inside your own Snowflake account.
- Terry HinchcliffeHm. I'll think about it.
- Daniel OkaforOf course, no pressure on the call. Maybe the more useful question is how we get the other consultants a reason to open it. Donna, keep it simple for the consultants, I think that's your line.
- Donna WraggIt is, ha. Look, I'm not making them use something that slows them down. If it saves them time they'll use it. Does it save my lot time, that's the only test.
- Daniel OkaforRight. So what if I offered a short session for the wider team, built around the one question they ask most before a client call. Not a tour of every feature. Just that one thing, on your real data.
- Donna WraggOoh, yes. Warehouse and driving consultants, they're always checking what we placed last time and what we invoiced. If it does that in ten seconds, they'll love it.
- Jodie BurkinshawI can pull together the questions people actually ask me in the office. That's probably the best list. Half of them are what's this client's history.
- Daniel OkaforThat would be perfect, Jodie. I'll come back to you after the new year with a couple of slots, and we'll fit round your busy period. I don't want to land it in the middle of the Christmas rush.
- Nell AshcombeTerry, can I say one more thing on cost, so you've got it plainly? Nothing changes this term. The contract runs to 30 Jul 2025 and the renewal date is 31 Jul 2025. We'll talk properly well before then. I'd rather you had a view on value by that point than a surprise.
- Terry HinchcliffeRight. Fine. That's all I wanted.
- Nell AshcombeGood. One request: if the session goes well, tell us what changed for the consultants. If it doesn't, tell us that too.
- Donna WraggWe will. I'm not shy.
- Daniel OkaforNo, you're not, and we're grateful. So just to close the loop: I'll send a short recap today, then I'll come back to Jodie with session options in the new year. Anything else anyone wants to raise?
- Jodie BurkinshawNot from me.
- Terry HinchcliffeNo. Thanks.
- Donna WraggAll good. Happy Christmas if I don't speak to you. Ta, all.
- Daniel OkaforThank you all. Happy Christmas, and speak soon.
