What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Demo to Lorna Cairns, Euan Drummond and Ailsa Pringle. Ailsa found it useful; Euan wants access scoping and the payroll export answered in writing. Lorna was quoted £52k as a deal total and must take it to the budget holder.
What happened: Hannah Lowe showed the employer page, chat, search over call recordings and the dashboards builder on mock data. Ailsa's own query picked up two late-submission clients she had forgotten.
Customer view: Lorna's need is one picture of an employer, now spread across about five places. Euan's conditions are written detail on access scoping and the payroll engine export, then he is comfortable going to the next step.
Commercial: Priya Raman proposed Growth at £52k, stated as the deal total including implementation, not the yearly price. Lorna cannot commit and must go to whoever signs off budget.
Watch: the payroll engine offers only a scheduled file export, so connection is unconfirmed. Hannah would not promise it. The 6 Jan 2025 target is BG-Demo's aim, not the customer's commitment.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Hannah Lowe to send the access write-up and the payroll export answer after checking with the security lead.
- Priya Raman to send the Growth proposal to Lorna Cairns.
- Lorna Cairns to keep time free for a short call once the proposal is read.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The payroll engine only offers a scheduled file export, so the connection is not yet confirmed.
- Lorna cannot approve spend and the budget holder has not been met.
- Euan needs written confirmation that client manager access scoping applies to chat answers.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Growth fits the five-plus systems Euan listed, within the eight connectors included.
- Call recording search and source-linked answers resonated with Ailsa as a way to settle disputes with employers.
Transcript
- Priya RamanMorning, everyone. Can you hear me all right? I've got Hannah on from our side as well.
- Hannah LoweMorning. Yes, I can hear you. Hello, all.
- Lorna CairnsMorning. Aye, we can hear you fine. Euan's just getting his camera sorted and Ailsa's here.
- Euan DrummondSorry, give me a second. Right, that's me. Morning.
- Ailsa PringleMorning. It's very grey in Edinburgh today, I'll say that.
- Priya RamanHa, same here in London, it's been a grey week. Let me do a quick recap, to keep momentum. We've spoken a couple of times, you've told us about the shape of the business, and today is the demo on your own sort of data. Next step after this is a proposal, and we're aiming to have this over the line by 6 Jan 2025 if it all fits. Happy to make this easy.
- Lorna CairnsGood. Before we start, the week. We've got two big pay runs going out this week, so if anybody's pulled away I'll just say so. Pay dates don't move.
- Priya RamanUnderstood, we'll keep it tight. Hannah, over to you.
- Hannah LoweThanks, Priya. Before I share anything, what do you most need to know from today? I'd rather show the bits that matter than walk you round the whole thing.
- Lorna CairnsFor me it's simple. When a client manager picks up the phone to an employer, can they see the whole picture? Their queries, their deadlines, what's been said on calls, what we charge them. Right now it's in about five places.
- Ailsa PringleThat's it exactly. I'm flicking between the helpdesk, my inbox, the CRM and a spreadsheet of pay dates. Half the time the employer knows more about what we last said than I do.
- Euan DrummondAnd from my side, I need to know where the data goes and who can see what. We can't have one employer's data turning up in another's answers.
- Hannah LoweGood, that's a fair order. The short answer on your last point is that it runs inside your own Snowflake account, so the data doesn't leave your environment. The longer answer is that I'll show you how access is scoped, and I'll put that in writing afterwards so Euan has it properly.
- Euan DrummondYes, please. In writing is better.
- Hannah LoweRight, I'm sharing my screen now. You should see a page for a sample employer. I've loaded a mock payroll bureau client, built to look like yours, so nothing here is real client data.
- Lorna CairnsFine. We can see it.
- Hannah LoweSo this is the employer page. Top left you've got open tickets, then the recent calls and emails, then the fee history. To be precise, it's not a new system you type into. It reads from the systems you already use and puts them in one place.
- Ailsa PringleSo I wouldn't be copying things across?
- Hannah LoweNo. That's the point. Nightly refresh, and it's there by the start of your working day.
- Lorna CairnsWhat about the pay date? Can it show me when their next pay date is?
- Hannah LoweIf the pay date sits in one of the connected systems, yes. Let me ask it. I'll type: which employers have a pay date this week and an unanswered query.
- Hannah LoweThere. It gives you a list, and each line says where it got the answer from. Click through and you land on the original ticket.
- Lorna CairnsHmm. That's the one I'd want on a Monday morning. Has the client been told? That's always my question.
- Hannah LoweTry it. Ask it that, in your words.
- Ailsa PringleI'll have a go. Which clients have had a late submission from them this month and haven't had a call from us. Oh, it's thinking.
- Ailsa PringleRight, that's actually useful. It's picked up two I'd forgotten. One I'd had a note about but never rang.
- Priya RamanThat's the sort of thing we see clients get value from quite quickly, if I can jump in. Sorry, Hannah.
- Hannah LoweNo, go on, it's a good point. I'd just add, it's only as good as the sources feeding it, so we'd agree which ones first.
- Euan DrummondWhich brings me to the connectors. How many would we be using? We've got the payroll engine, the helpdesk, the CRM, the mailboxes, the call recorder. And a document store.
- Hannah LoweGrowth comes with eight connectors, so you'd be inside that. The one I'd flag is the payroll engine. Whether we can connect it depends on what export it offers, and I don't want to promise that today.
- Euan DrummondIt does a scheduled file export. Not an interface as such.
- Hannah LoweThen a file drop is probably workable. I'll check the detail and come back to you, rather than guess.
- Hannah LoweLet me show you the dashboards builder now, as that comes with Growth. It's the pay-run view a team lead might want. Fees by employer, queries by week.
- Lorna CairnsCan I make that myself, or would I need Euan?
- Hannah LoweYou can build it yourself. Euan would manage who can see it. In practice most people start by asking questions in chat, and only turn the good ones into a dashboard.
- Euan DrummondRight. Access. If I set up client managers so they only see their own employers, does that hold for the chat answers too?
- Hannah LoweTo be precise, the answers are built from what that user is allowed to read. I'll write up exactly how that's configured. I don't want to overstate it from memory, so I'll check the detail with our security lead before I send it.
- Euan DrummondThat's fine. Better than a vague yes.
- Ailsa PringleCan it look at our call recordings? Because half of what we promise employers is said on the phone.
- Hannah LoweYes, if the call recorder is one of your connectors. Let me show the search, it pulls a line from the call and takes you to the moment it was said.
- Ailsa PringleOh, that's good. That would have saved me an argument last month.
- Lorna CairnsAye. Right, Priya, what are we looking at cost wise? Roughly. I can't commit anything, I'd have to take it upstairs to whoever signs off budget.
- Priya RamanOf course. So what we'd propose is Growth, and the whole figure including implementation comes to £51,600. That's the deal total, not the yearly price, so I'll break it down properly in the proposal.
- Lorna CairnsFifty-one six all in. Right. And what's included in that?
- Priya RamanThe set-up of your connectors, the dashboards builder, chat and search, and a quarterly review with our customer success lead, Daniel. We'll lay it out clearly so you can show it on.
- Lorna CairnsGood. Let's get it right first time. Send it to me and I'll see who needs to read it.
- Hannah LoweBefore we finish, can I show one more thing? The way it shows where an answer came from. If you don't trust a number, you click and see the source. I think that's what will matter to your client managers.
- Ailsa PringleYeah, that's the bit I'd trust it for. If I can see the ticket behind it.
- Euan DrummondMy questions are mostly the access ones and the payroll export. If I get those in writing, I'm comfortable going to the next step.
- Priya RamanGreat. So, to recap, Hannah sends the access write-up and the answer on the payroll export, I send the proposal, and we speak again soon after. If we can keep that moving, we're still on track for 6 Jan 2025.
- Lorna CairnsThat works. I'll keep the diary clear for a short call once we've read it.
- Hannah LoweThanks, all. I'll put it all in writing. Speak soon.
- Lorna CairnsThanks, everyone. Mind how you go.
- Priya RamanCheers all, bye for now.
