As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Renewal call with Mossbrook Data Partners on 23 Jul 2026. The customer is happy and wants to stay on Starter. The CRM renewal sits at £26k against the £24k order form, with a written breakdown promised.
What happened: Marcus Bell showed usage and the one ticket, then Sophie Ling walked through the renewal. Joanna Platt raised the partner side and who owns a referred client's onboarding.

Commercial: The order form says £24k, matching invoices. The CRM renewal deal is recorded at £26k, and Sophie declined to explain the split until she checks the draft against the order form. Closing was pencilled for 14 Aug 2026.
Watch: The gap is unexplained on the call. The evidence does not show whether the renewal closed.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Sophie Ling sends the written breakdown and the Starter renewal draft by the end of that week, confirming the partner arrangement is unaffected.
- Marcus Bell sends the usage report with the breakdown and drafts the onboarding note with Joanna Platt.
- Femi Adeyemi reads the paperwork and returns questions ahead of the 14 Aug 2026 close.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The CRM renewal figure of £26,000 differs from the £23,500 order form and was not explained on the call.
- Femi will not sign until he has read and understood the paperwork, so the 14 Aug 2026 closing date could slip.
- Ownership of onboarding for referred clients is still unclear.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Joanna has two clients close to ready, both already on Snowflake.
- Active use is up sharply, with only about six of 25 licensed users, so there is headroom.
Transcript
- Marcus BellHello, hello. Can you hear me alright? I've only just joined, so give me a second while I get the recording going.
- Joanna PlattLoud and clear. Afternoon, Marcus. Femi's still wrestling with his camera, I think he's on the wrong link.
- Femi AdeyemiAfternoon, all. Sorry. Wrong link, then the right link, then the wrong one again. Can you see me? Right, I'm here.
- Sophie LingHi Femi, hi Joanna. Good to see you both. Is it still tipping it down in Manchester? It's grey here but dry.
- Femi AdeyemiIt's stopped, thankfully. Before we start, can I ask how the last referral went? The client Joanna put your way. I've only had the short version from her, and I'd like the long one.
- Sophie LingHappy to. From where I sit it's moving along nicely. They were quick to get going, and Joanna's team had done a lot of the groundwork on the Snowflake side, which made everyone's life easier. Marcus, you've seen more of the day to day than I have.
- Marcus BellYeah, it's been smooth. Nothing I'd flag. They asked sensible questions early on and Joanna's people were on the calls, so we weren't starting from a blank page.
- Joanna PlattGood, that's what I wanted to hear. Quick pipeline from my end, because it feeds into today. We've got a couple of clients who are close to being ready, both on Snowflake already, both asking the question B-Viz answers, which is why can't I just ask my own data. I'll want to talk about how we handle those properly, but let's do the renewal first.
- Femi AdeyemiYes. Let's not lose the renewal in the pipeline chat. Marcus, I think you've got something to show us?
- Marcus BellI have. I'll share my screen now. What I want to cover is quick: how Mossbrook has been using B-Viz, the one ticket you raised, then Sophie will take you through the renewal itself. And then we can come back to the referral side at the end. Can you see the usage page?
- Joanna PlattYep, I can see it. The font's a bit small but I can read it.
- Marcus BellI'll zoom in. So, I've pulled the numbers. You're licensed for 25 users on Starter. Active users over the last month average out at around six, and that's up sharply on the previous quarter. It's not a huge number against the seats, but the direction is what I'd look at, and it's the right direction.
- Femi AdeyemiAround six. Who are they? Is it the same few people, or is it spreading?
- Marcus BellIt's spreading a bit, which is nice. A couple of the heavier users are still the ones I'd expect, but there are newer names in the list too. I won't read them out, I'll send the report, but there are more people asking questions than there were at the start of the year.
- Joanna PlattThat'll be the delivery team. We started using it when we were scoping new engagements, so a consultant could ask what a client's setup looked like without trawling through old documents. Then word got round. Mm, a few of the newer ones are people who joined this year.
- Femi AdeyemiWhich is the thing I care about. Are the consultants' hours better spent? Not just, are they logging in.
- Joanna PlattI'd say yes, honestly. Scoping calls are shorter because people arrive prepared. I can't give you a number, Femi, I haven't measured it, and that's on me. Let's write that down actually, we should measure it before the next review.
- Marcus BellI can help with that. Happy to jump on a call and pick a couple of measures that come straight out of the usage data, so you're not building anything by hand.
- Femi AdeyemiThat would be good. How do we both know it's working? That's my question for any arrangement, ours included.
- Marcus BellFair. Okay, next bit. Tickets. You raised one in the last month, and it was a high priority one. It was dealt with, and there's nothing sitting open from your side. I just wanted to check you felt it was handled properly.
- Joanna PlattI remember it. Nothing lingering for us. One ticket in a month is, frankly, a quiet month. If it had been three or four I'd have been on the phone.
- Femi AdeyemiGood. I don't want to be the person who learns about problems at renewal time.
- Marcus BellNo, and you won't. If anything's wobbling I'd rather you heard it from me first. Right. That's my part. Sophie, over to you.
- Sophie LingThanks, Marcus. So, the housekeeping first, then we'll talk about what you want. You joined us on 29 Aug 2025, on Starter, and the current term ends on 28 Aug 2026, with the renewal date the day after, 29 Aug 2026. Today's a good time because it leaves us plenty of runway.
- Femi AdeyemiA year already. It doesn't feel like it.
- Sophie LingIt never does. On the money, and I want to be careful here because I'd rather be right than quick: your contracted figure on the order form is £23,500 a year, and that matches what we've invoiced. Everything's been paid on time, so thank you for that, my finance team are very fond of you.
- Femi AdeyemiGlad to hear it. We try.
- Sophie LingNow, the renewal in our system is currently sitting at £26,000. I'm going to be straight with you: that figure is the total value of the deal as it's recorded, and I don't want to describe it wrongly or guess at how it splits on a call. So I'll send you a proper breakdown in writing, line by line, against the £23,500 you pay now.
- Femi AdeyemiYes, please do. I'd like to see exactly what the difference is made of. Put it in the agreement, whatever it is, and I won't sign anything I haven't read, as Joanna will tell you.
- Joanna PlattHe really won't. I've watched him read a data processing schedule on a train.
- Femi AdeyemiIt was a long train. Sophie, is the difference something to do with the users? We've got 25 seats and are using a fraction of them.
- Sophie LingI don't want to say yes or no until I've checked the draft against the order form, because I'd be guessing. What I can say is that nobody's asking you to take on more than you want. The breakdown will make it clear, and if something in it doesn't make sense to you, tell me and we'll go through it together.
- Femi AdeyemiThat's fair. What's in it for the client, as I'd say, is that it should be explainable to them and to us. If I can't explain a number to my own partners, it's not a good number.
- Sophie LingCompletely agree. I'll make sure it's something you can lift straight into a conversation with your partners.
- Marcus BellCan I just say, price is Sophie's side, so I'll stay out of it, but on the value point I'm happy to make the usage report as clear as I can so you've got it in front of you when you decide.
- Femi AdeyemiAppreciated, Marcus. Joanna, anything from you on the subscription itself before we get on to the partner side?
- Joanna PlattOnly that I'd like us to stay on Starter. It does what we need. We're not looking to jump a tier, and I'd rather get more of the team using what we've got than pay for features we don't touch. If that changes, we'll say.
- Sophie LingThat's useful to know, thank you. I'll draft it as a Starter renewal then. Nothing about the tier changes unless you tell me otherwise.
- Femi AdeyemiGood. Timing. When do you need us to have decided?
- Sophie LingThe date I've got pencilled in for closing is 14 Aug 2026. That leaves a couple of weeks before the term ends on 28 Aug 2026, so nothing is rushed and nothing lapses. If you need longer for the reading, say so and we'll look at it. I'd rather move the date than have you sign in a hurry.
- Femi AdeyemiRight. If you send the breakdown this week or early next, I can read it properly and come back with questions well before then.
- Sophie LingDone. I'll aim to get it to you and Joanna by the end of the week. And I'll copy Marcus so he's in the loop.
- Marcus BellThanks. I'll send the usage report at the same time, so the two things arrive together and you're not matching them up.
- Joanna PlattOkay, can I bring up the partner side now? Because I think it's where I've got the most questions, and I don't want to run out of time.
- Femi AdeyemiGo on. We've got the time.
- Joanna PlattSo, we're a Snowflake consultancy, and a lot of our clients are exactly the companies B-Viz is built for. As we send more across, I want to be clear on day one what the client needs, who does the onboarding and who answers when something's not working. Who owns this, us or you? At the moment I think it depends who you ask.
- Sophie LingThat's a fair challenge. My view is that the implementation and the subscription are ours, so anything on the platform is our responsibility. The relationship with the client's own data team, and the Snowflake work around it, is yours. Where it gets muddy is the first few weeks.
- Joanna PlattExactly the first few weeks. Let's write that down. A one page note: what we do, what you do, who calls the client, and who follows up if a referral goes quiet. I never let a referral go without a follow-up, and I don't want one to drift because we each thought the other had it.
- Marcus BellI can draft the onboarding half of that, because that's the part I see. I'd suggest we keep it short enough that people actually read it.
- Femi AdeyemiAnd it goes in the agreement, or at least sits alongside it. I'd also like us to be clear that the partner arrangement and the subscription are separate things. Renewing one shouldn't quietly change the other.
- Sophie LingUnderstood. I'd keep them as two documents. I'll confirm in the same email that the partner arrangement isn't affected by the renewal, so you have that in writing too.
- Femi AdeyemiThank you. One more thing from me. I don't refer a client for a fee alone, ever. So if there's any sense in which the arrangement rewards volume over fit, I'd want to talk about it.
- Sophie LingI hear you, and I wouldn't want that either. Fit first. If it's useful I can bring the partner terms to the next call so we look at them side by side with the renewal, rather than chasing them separately.
- Femi AdeyemiYes, I'd like that. Let's do that.
- Joanna PlattAnd I'll put the two clients I mentioned on a list, with what each needs on day one, so when we do talk about the process we're talking about real cases and not hypotheticals.
- Marcus BellThat'd help me a lot. Shall we book half an hour next week for the three of us, Joanna, and keep Sophie for the commercial bits?
- Joanna PlattPerfect. I'll send you a few slots. Not Monday, my diary's a mess.
- Sophie LingSo, to recap before we all lose the thread. I send the breakdown and the order form draft by the end of the week, with a note that the partner arrangement stands as it is. Marcus sends the usage report. Femi reads and comes back with questions. We aim to close by 14 Aug 2026. Joanna and Marcus sort the onboarding note.
- Femi AdeyemiThat's it. I'm comfortable. We're happy with the product, and I'd like to carry on. I just want the paperwork to say what we think it says.
- Sophie LingThat's all anyone should want. Thanks, both.
- Marcus BellThanks, everyone. Speak soon.
- Joanna PlattThanks, all. Bye.
- Femi AdeyemiCheers. Goodbye.
