What was said
What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Usage on Starter has nearly tripled on the previous quarter and Joanna Platt is positive. She asked when the contract renews and whether pricing will change. Marcus Bell deferred pricing to Sophie Ling.
What happened: On 1 Dec 2025 Marcus walked through usage, support and money. Joanna described one live referral and asked who does what once a referred client signs.
Customer view: She uses B-Viz for client meeting prep and handovers. Her own team sees it working, and she said she expected a list of problems and left with a list of things to do.
Commercial: Marcus gave the term end as 28 Aug 2026 and the renewal date as 29 Aug 2026. He said existing customers move onto current pricing at first renewal and left detail to Sophie, so the call gives no figure.
Watch: Joanna will warn her finance team of a possible change. The sharing question about pages for clients remains open with Marcus.

Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Marcus Bell to send January session options and the written summary of who owns what.
- Marcus Bell to email an answer on sharing pages outside the licensed users.
- Sophie Ling to walk Joanna Platt through renewal pricing in good time before 29 Aug 2026.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Joanna asked whether pricing will change at renewal and the call gave no answer, so the price move is unsettled.
- Active use is still small against fifteen licensed users, so the value case depends on wider team adoption.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- A live referral client with a Snowflake warehouse could be introduced, with Sophie Ling leading and Marcus on the call.
- A January team session could bring the whole delivery team onto B-Viz.
Transcript
- Marcus BellHi Joanna, can you hear me alright?
- Joanna PlattLoud and clear. Good afternoon. Sorry, I'm a minute or two behind, my last call overran and I had to run back from the other end of the office.
- Marcus BellNo problem at all. It's nearly dark already here, isn't it? Four forty-five and I've got the lamp on. December in Manchester.
- Joanna PlattDon't. I left the house in the dark and I'll go home in the dark. Anyway, you're sharing your screen, I can see it. Lovely.
- Marcus BellYeah, so what I want to cover today is quite simple. I've pulled the numbers for the last quarter, I'd like to walk you through usage, have a quick look at the support side, and then hear from you how it's going with your clients. Happy to go wherever's useful, though. Is that all right?
- Joanna PlattThat works. Can I do the pipeline first, though? Two minutes. It shapes what I'd want from you.
- Marcus BellOf course. Go for it.
- Joanna PlattSo, we're mid-way through a few warehouse projects for clients, mostly mid-sized firms around the North West, and a couple of them are at the stage where they're asking what they can actually do with the data once it's modelled. That's the bit I keep wanting to point at B-Viz. A couple of those conversations are warm. One I'd say is properly live, they've asked me what the next step looks like.
- Marcus BellThat's good to hear. Is that one a Snowflake client already?
- Joanna PlattYes, we built their warehouse. So it's the sort of company B-Viz is meant for. What I'd like to know, and let's write that down, is what the client needs on day one. Because if I introduce them and it's a slow start, that lands on me.
- Marcus BellRight. Yeah. I think that's a fair question and probably one for a proper conversation with Sophie as well, since she looks after the commercial side. But from where I sit, day one is really about which systems they want connected first. Do they know that?
- Joanna PlattTheir CRM and the helpdesk, I think. They moan about the helpdesk a lot. I'd need to check with them.
- Marcus BellOkay, that's a sensible place to start. Starter lets you connect a handful of sources, so if they just want those two to begin with, it's straightforward.
- Joanna PlattGood. Right. I'll come back to that at the end, otherwise I'll talk all the way through. Show me the numbers.
- Marcus BellSure. So, this is the usage view for your account. You're on Starter, fifteen licensed users, and that's been the case since you joined on 29 Aug 2025. What I wanted to flag first is active users. Over the last thirty days it's averaging nearly three people a day.
- Joanna PlattIs that good? It sounds small when you say it out loud.
- Marcus BellIt sounds small, but the trend is the thing. Compared with the previous quarter it's nearly tripled. So it's gone from one person poking around to a small group using it properly.
- Joanna PlattAh. Yeah, that fits. When we first started it was basically me and one of the senior consultants. Since then I've got a few more of the team in, because they kept seeing us find things quickly and wanted the same.
- Marcus BellThat's exactly what I'd hope for. And you've got plenty of room, you're nowhere near the fifteen. So if you wanted to bring more of the delivery team on, there's no licence issue at all.
- Joanna PlattGood to know. I'd rather fill those seats than have them sit there. Who's asking the most questions, can you see that?
- Marcus BellI can, yeah. Let me just, sorry, bear with me, I'm scrolling. Right. It's spread out a bit more than it was. You're still the biggest single user, but it's not all you any more. I'd say that's healthy. If it were all one person I'd be a bit nervous, because if they went on holiday or left, usage would fall off a cliff.
- Joanna PlattHa, so I can't go on holiday.
- Marcus BellYou can go on holiday. You just can't take everyone with you.
- Joanna PlattFair. Go on.
- Marcus BellQuestions asked is the other one I look at. It's up on the previous quarter as well, and it's up on the same time last year, well, as far as there is a last year for you, you only joined in the summer. So it's more a case of it climbing steadily since you went live.
- Joanna PlattWhat sort of things are they asking? Do you see that?
- Marcus BellNot the detail, no. I see volumes and who, not the content of the questions. You'd know better. What are your people using it for?
- Joanna PlattMostly prep, honestly. Before we go into a client meeting someone will ask what's changed in their account, what's been raised, where the open issues are. It used to be an hour of digging through three systems. Now it's a few minutes. And the other use is handovers, when a consultant picks up a client from someone else.
- Marcus BellThat's a good use. Handovers is one I don't hear enough. Would you mind if I used that as an example with other customers? No name, just the idea.
- Joanna PlattFine by me, as long as you don't name us without asking. Who owns that, us or you? I'd want to see the wording first.
- Marcus BellUnderstood. I'd run it past you before anything went anywhere. Let's write that down, my action.
- Joanna PlattThank you. Go on, support next?
- Marcus BellYeah. Quiet, which is good. One ticket in the last thirty days, nothing high priority, and it's been dealt with. It was a how-to question, I think, about getting a source set up the way you wanted. Does that ring a bell?
- Joanna PlattYes, that was one of my consultants. They got a bit stuck on a connection and rather than ask me they raised it. Which I was actually pleased about.
- Marcus BellMe too. A ticket from someone other than the champion is a good sign. It means people are trying things.
- Joanna PlattMm. It was sorted quickly, I'll say that.
- Marcus BellGood. And on the money side, nothing outstanding. No overdue invoices. The order form and the invoices both say nineteen thousand five hundred a year, so everything lines up.
- Joanna PlattOur finance team would be horrified if there was anything overdue. They pay on the day.
- Marcus BellI wish everyone did.
- Joanna PlattSo, if I read it back: usage is up, a few more people, tickets quiet, and no admin worries. Is there anything you'd worry about?
- Marcus BellHonestly, not much. The one thing I'd keep an eye on is that the active group is still small compared with what you're licensed for. Not a problem, it's an opportunity. If more of your team come on, you get more out of it, and the stronger the story is when you talk to clients.
- Joanna PlattThat's my thinking too. Because the thing I keep saying to clients is that we use it ourselves. If I can say the whole delivery team uses it daily, that's a much better sentence than saying a couple of us have a look now and then.
- Marcus BellRight, exactly. Would it help if I ran a short session for the team? Nothing heavy. Show them how to ask good questions, where the pages are, that sort of thing. Shall we book 30 minutes?
- Joanna PlattYes, please. Not before the end of the year, though, everyone's disappearing. Early in the new year? I'd want to get at least the whole delivery team in the room, so I need a day when they're all around.
- Marcus BellJanuary's fine. I'll send a couple of options and you pick. I'll keep it practical, on your own data, so it isn't a generic walkthrough.
- Joanna PlattPerfect. Let's write that down: Marcus sends options, I pick, delivery team attends.
- Marcus BellDone. Noted.
- Joanna PlattRight, can we go back to the referral thing? Because I'm conscious that's the bit I really care about.
- Marcus BellYes, please. I'd like to hear how you'd want it to work.
- Joanna PlattSo the live one. They'll want to see it on their own data before they commit to anything, I know that much. I don't want to hand them over cold. What I'd like is for us to be on the first call, and for someone from your side to say plainly what it takes to get going, what they'd need to provide, and roughly how long it takes.
- Marcus BellThat makes sense. The introduction itself would go through Sophie, because she looks after new business and the commercial terms. But I'm very happy to be on the call for the adoption side, what happens after they've signed, because that's my bit.
- Joanna PlattGood. And I want to be clear on who does what afterwards. If we're doing the warehouse work and you're doing B-Viz, who do they ring when something's slow? Us or you?
- Marcus BellIf it's about B-Viz, the answer, the support route and me. If it's about the warehouse underneath, that's yours. And where it's not obvious, you and I sort it between us and the client never has to know. I'd rather we agreed that now than argued about it later.
- Joanna PlattYes. I hate it when a client gets bounced between two firms. Let's write that down as well.
- Marcus BellI'll put it in the notes I send after this.
- Joanna PlattWhile I think of it, we're coming up to the first anniversary soon, well, next summer. When does our contract actually come up?
- Marcus BellThe current term runs to 28 Aug 2026, and the renewal date is 29 Aug 2026. So there's a good while yet. As the CSM I'll send the renewal notice well ahead of that, about three months before, and we'd have a proper conversation then.
- Joanna PlattOkay. Will pricing change? I'm not asking for a promise, I just like to know whether to warn our finance people.
- Marcus BellHonestly, that's one for Sophie, I don't want to get it wrong. What I do know is that there's a newer price list that applies from this month for new customers, and that existing customers move onto current pricing when they first renew. I'd rather she walked you through exactly what it means for you, in good time, than I guessed.
- Joanna PlattFair enough. That's an honest answer. I'll ask her nearer the time, and I'll tell finance there might be a change so it isn't a surprise.
- Marcus BellThat would be sensible. I'll let her know you'd like to talk it through, so she's expecting it.
- Joanna PlattThanks. Right, other things. Is there anything on your side you wanted from us?
- Marcus BellA couple of small things. One, if you're happy, a short note on what's worked for your team, so I can share it internally. Just a few lines, informal. Two, if any of your clients do go ahead, tell me early which systems they plan to connect, so I can think about the order. Nothing more than that.
- Joanna PlattEasy. I'll send you the note this week, probably tomorrow. And on the second one, yes, I'll ask them as soon as I speak to them.
- Marcus BellBrilliant, thank you.
- Joanna PlattActually, one more thing, a product question. Do the pages you can build get shared outside the team? One of my consultants asked if she could show a page to a client in a meeting without giving them a login.
- Marcus BellHmm. I want to be careful there. I'd rather not say yes and then be wrong. Showing it on your screen in a meeting is fine, obviously. Sharing it outside the licensed users is a different matter, and I'd want to check how that works before I tell you. Can I come back to you on it in writing?
- Joanna PlattPlease. Screen sharing is the main thing, and that's fine. It's more whether there's a neat way to leave something with them.
- Marcus BellUnderstood. I'll find out and email you, and I won't guess.
- Joanna PlattThank you. That's what I like about you, you say when you don't know.
- Marcus BellHa, it saves me trouble later.
- Joanna PlattSo, a quick recap, because I'll forget otherwise. You send options for a team session in January. I send you a short note on what's working. I go back to the live client about an introduction, with Sophie leading and you on the call. You check the sharing question. And Sophie and I talk about renewal nearer the time.
- Marcus BellThat's everything. I'd add one: I'll send you the written summary of today with who owns what, so we've both got it. I'll get that over tomorrow.
- Joanna PlattLovely. Thanks, Marcus. This has been useful. I came in half expecting a list of problems and instead I've got a list of things to do.
- Marcus BellBetter way round, I think. Thanks for making the time, and sorry we've gone a touch over the usual.
- Joanna PlattNot at all. Speak soon. Enjoy what's left of the day, and wrap up warm.
- Marcus BellYou too. Cheers, Joanna. Bye for now.
