Client records appear twice in answers, so counts over them come out double. The duplicates share one import batch, which looks like a rerun of the source load, but the cause is not confirmed.

Problem: Ciaran Doherty reports client records showing twice in answers about engagements, with the same name and details on two rows, and he thinks they came from one import rather than manual entry.

Handling: Kate Ormerod asked for one example and checked the source table. She found that the duplicates share one import batch, and asked Ewan Pryce to look at the dedupe step before she replied again.

Watch: The ticket closed on 22 May 2026, but the thread shows no confirmed cause and no reply to Ciaran after 18 Apr 2026.

Some client records are showing up twice in answers about our engagements. The same name appears on two rows with the same details, and any count we run over them comes out double. Not blocking anything at the moment, but I wanted it on record before it turns into a reporting issue. I checked the source table and the duplicates look like they came from the same import, not from someone typing the record in twice. Let me know what you need from us to find the cause. Ciaran

Hello Ciaran, Thanks for logging this with so much detail, it helps a lot. Could you send me one example of a duplicated name, along with the question you asked when you saw it? That lets me check the same records you are seeing rather than a similar set. We will look at the import side as well. I can't say yet what the cause is. Kind regards, Kate

Checked the source table against what Ciaran described. The duplicates share one import batch, which looks like a rerun of the source load. Not reproduced yet. Ewan, can you look at the dedupe step before I reply again? Holding the reply until we have the example from Ciaran.
