Ashok Patel could not find the branch filter for a shared trade account. His test user's group-wide access appeared to override the branch view. Closed after a retest was requested.

Problem: Ashok wanted branch managers to see only their branch's orders on a shared trade account, but the default view showed the whole group. Handling: Kate Ormerod asked which account it sat under, then suggested the test user's group-wide access was overriding the view. She asked Ashok to retest with a branch manager's login. First response took 447 minutes. Watch: The ticket is closed, but the retest result is not recorded in the evidence.

Hi, I'm trying to set up a view for branch managers that shows only their own branch's orders against a shared trade account. I've followed the admin guide but I can't find where to set the branch filter on the trade account, and the default view still shows the whole group. Could someone walk me through it? I'd rather get this right first time than roll it out and have to undo it. I also need to know whether branch managers need admin rights to see the view, or whether it's a permission I can set on their roles. Thanks, Ashok

Hi Ashok, thanks for getting in touch. Just so I've got this right, you want a branch-level view of a shared trade account, and the default is still showing the whole group. I'm going to check the exact steps for this rather than guess them, and I'll come back to you. In the meantime, could you tell me which account the trade account sits under? That'll help me look at the right setup. Kate

Hi Kate, I've tested it on one branch first, as ever. The screenshot shows the branch setting, but the data says otherwise: the managers still see the whole group. Could it be my test user's role? That account is set up with group-wide access, so I wasn't sure. Ashok

Hi Ashok, thanks for the screenshot, that helps a lot. Your test user's group-wide access could well be overriding the branch view, so I'd try again with a branch manager's login instead. Could you do that and tell me what you see? Once you've confirmed it, we can close this off. Kate
