Problem: Neil Craven, Director of Trade Customers, said orders and deliveries took most of a minute to appear on large accounts, especially those with many logged calls.
Handling: Connor Webb found the full call history was loaded on every visit, changed the page to fetch recent calls first, and the ticket closed on 2 May 2025.
Watch: Connor said he would repeat the test and send real timings, but the record holds none, so the speed-up is not yet shown. Neil says branches will judge the whole tool on this page.

created · Neil Craven 16 Apr 2025 16:39Hello, I'm writing because the trade account pages have been slow for the last couple of weeks. A branch manager rang me this morning saying she waited most of a minute for the orders and deliveries to show on an account, and by the time it loaded she had already moved on to the phone. Our trade credit team says the same, especially when they open an account with a lot of calls logged against it. We've tried refreshing and signing out and back in, and it's no better at quiet times either. I'm not expecting miracles, but this is what the branches will judge the whole tool on, so I'd like it looked at properly. We're looking at the trade account pages now and checking how long the orders and deliveries queries take for your account in particular. Could you let me know which branch rang you this morning and roughly what time, so I can match it against the logs? Connor

I'd rather not name the branch in writing, but it was one of the northern ones, and the account was one of the big housebuilder accounts. Trade credit has a call log against it too, so if the calls are part of the slowdown, that's likely the reason. Let's sort it, not talk about it. Neil

The slow part was the call history being loaded in full on every visit to the account, which gets heavy on the housebuilder accounts. We've changed the page so it loads the most recent calls first and fetches the rest only when someone asks for them. I'm going to repeat the same account on our side this week to check how long it takes, and I'll come back to you with the actual timings rather than tell you it's fixed. Connor
