What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Kamal Hussein, the Business Systems Manager, is leaving and warns the control-room incident connector runs on his own account. If his login is switched off it will stop loading unseen. Daniel Okafor proposes a shared service login.
Ask: Kamal wants an owner named for a new login and says his handover note does not fix the personal-account problem. He asked Sharon Tilley who should own it.
BG-Demo view: Daniel proposes moving the connector to a company-owned service login with a backout plan, and asks that nothing live is changed until the steps are agreed.
Next: Sharon has not replied in this thread. Daniel promised a short plan by Wednesday once he has seen Kamal's notes.

- Kamal Hussein 29 Aug 2025 13:57Daniel, A heads up, and I wanted you to hear it from me. I am leaving Marlcliff two weeks today, so my last day is Friday. Sharon knows and is copied. I have written a handover note for B-Viz. It covers the connectors for rostering, the finance system and the control room, with how each was set up and what to check if one stops loading. It's in the runbook, and I'll send you the link separately. One thing the note does not fix. The connector for the control-room incident system runs on my own account, not a shared one. If my login is switched off after I go, that connector will stop loading and nobody will see why. I'd rather not leave that to chance. I'll check the connector settings again on Monday and write down exactly what needs changing. Which of you should own the new login? Sharon, I assume that is a question for you and the control room. Kamal
- Daniel Okafor 29 Aug 2025 15:23Kamal, Sharon, Thank you for telling me so plainly, Kamal. I'm sorry to hear you're going. You were the first admin we worked with at Marlcliff and you set the whole thing up carefully, so it's a real loss for the team here too. I hope the next move is a good one. Just to close the loop on the connector: you're right that it needs a proper owner before your last day. A connector tied to one person's account is exactly the sort of thing that goes quiet after someone leaves, and the control room would feel it first. The incident data is what Sharon's account managers lean on most. My suggestion is that we move it to a shared service login that the company owns, with a backout plan so nothing live is disturbed. Kamal, if you can write down the current settings on Monday as you say, I'll go through them with you and then with whoever Sharon names on the IT side. Please don't change anything live until we've agreed the steps together. Sharon, could you let me know who in your team or IT should hold the new login? I'll come back to you both by Wednesday with a short plan. I won't guess at timings until I've seen Kamal's notes. How is the team finding it generally, by the way? I'd like to hear that before Kamal goes as well. Best wishes, Daniel
