What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Laura Penhaligon takes the credit data session. Ashok Patel agrees a Wednesday slot, will send a small extract, and notes credit balances come from two sources that disagree at month-end. Logistical, with one data issue.
Ask: Laura wanted a session on how credit limits and balances are held and whether they tie to the ledger, plus a sample extract.
Customer view: Ashok is cooperative but cautious. He will share only a handful of accounts and test credit on one branch first, and says the two balance sources do not always agree.
Next: Laura confirms the Wednesday morning session, keyed on the agreed trade account number, and Ashok sends the extract and any mapping.

- Laura Penhaligon 29 Apr 2025 14:16Hi Ashok, Hamza has passed me his notes from yesterday, and the branch and delivery side sounds in good shape. I'm going to pick up the credit data with you, since the trade-credit team will be among the first to use it. Could we find a slot later this week or early next? I'd like to cover how credit limits and balances are held in your system, and whether they tie back to the ledger. You mentioned before that reports need to match the ledger, so I'd rather check that early than discover a gap once people are asking questions. If you can, please send a sample extract of a few trade accounts, anonymised if you prefer, so I can see the shape of the data before we meet. Thanks, Laura
- Ashok Patel 2 May 2025 16:47Hi Laura, Apologies, it's been a busy few days. Next week works. Wednesday or Thursday morning, either is fine. I can send a small extract, though I'll keep it to a handful of accounts and not include anything I can't restore or re-create. Credit balances come from two places in our setup, and they don't always agree at month-end. I'd rather you saw that for yourself than took my word for it. I'll test the credit source on one branch before switching it on more widely, as with the others. Which account number is that going to key on? I'd like to confirm before I send the extract. Ashok
- Laura Penhaligon 2 May 2025 18:45Hi Ashok, That's helpful, thank you. Let's go with Wednesday morning, and I'll send an invite shortly. On your question: we'll key on the same trade account number we agreed for the branch and delivery data, so credit lines up with the rest. If the credit system uses a different one, send me the mapping with the extract and we'll look at it together. A handful of accounts is plenty. Testing on one branch first is exactly how I'd want to do it, so no objection there. The disagreement between the two balance sources is the interesting part, so we'll start with that. Have a good weekend. Best, Laura
