What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Tom Ashdown asked Rebecca Ainsworth for times to walk through the proposal with Malcolm Hebden. Rebecca offered Thursday or Friday morning, asked for a day-one view for member services, and said she cannot agree terms without Malcolm.
Ask: Rebecca wants the proposal to show what member services would see on day one and what comes later for underwriting and claims.
Customer view: She is positive and gave a live example of a member call needing three screens. She is clear the decision on terms sits with Malcolm, whose diary may take a day or two.
Next: Malcolm's office to check his diary, then the walk-through is booked.

Thanks again for making time on the last call, it was really useful to hear how your relationship managers prepare for a member's renewal today and where the policies, claims and call notes get in each other's way. I'm pulling the proposal together now. Before I send it, I'd like to get something in the diary to walk you through it properly rather than just firing a document over. Given where we've got to, I think it's worth having Malcolm on that call too, as he'll want to see how the commercial side is put together. No drama if he can't make the first slot, but I'd rather he saw it early than cold. Could you let me know a couple of times that suit you later this week or early next? Mornings are easiest for me, but I'll work round you. And if there's anything you'd like me to make sure the proposal covers, member services, underwriting or claims, just say and I'll fold it in. Cheers, Tom
- Rebecca Ainsworth 27 Nov 2023 15:02Hello Tom, Thanks for this. It was a good call from our side too. One of the team had a member ring in this morning about a school roof claim, and the adviser had to open three different screens to get the full picture. It's exactly the sort of thing we talked about: let's not make them tell us twice. I'll ask Malcolm's office to look at his diary. He tends to be booked up a way ahead, so please don't read anything into it if it takes a day or two to come back to you. For me, Thursday morning or Friday morning would both work. One request for the proposal: could it show clearly what member services would see on day one, and what comes later for underwriting and claims? I want to be able to answer the question "what does the member see?" when I take it to my colleagues. I should say now that I can't agree anything on terms without Malcolm, so I'd rather you treated the walk-through as a chance for him to ask his questions. Kind regards, Rebecca
