What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Demo to Nichola Hogg and Chantelle Errington on sample data. They liked the chat answers and the honest limits: no email drafting, dashboards not in Starter, nightly refresh only. Security pack and login list promised.
What happened: Tom Ashdown and Tobias Renwick ran a 59 minute demo on a sample of Hepscott's placements. Geoff Lamb was not on the call, and Tom plans to set up a follow-up for him.
Customer view: Nichola and Chantelle saw the value in finding a consultant's last note quickly and not being asked where a placement stands. Nichola said she would sooner have the one that works.
Commercial: Tobias was candid that Starter has no dashboards, that email drafting is not available with no date promised, and that the refresh completes by 07:00 on business days. Geoff's margin dashboard interest would need a larger tier.
Watch: Call data only covers recorded calls, so unrecorded mobile calls will not show. Security questions will come first from the customer's IT team.

Transcript
- Tom AshdownAfternoon Nichola, afternoon Chantelle, afternoon Tobias. How's everyone doing?
- Tobias RenwickAfternoon. Good, thanks. Before we start, what will your security team need to see?
- Nichola HoggProbably that the data stays put, and who can see what. Our IT lot will ask that first.
- Tobias RenwickGood, that's the right order. To be precise, B-Viz runs inside your own Snowflake account. Your data stays in your account, and we don't copy it into ours.
- Chantelle ErringtonRight. So who at your end can actually look at our candidate data?
- Tobias RenwickThe honest answer is a small number of named people on our side, under access controls, and only for support. Your own admins control who can log in here.
- Chantelle ErringtonAnd if someone leaves your company?
- Tobias RenwickTheir access is removed through our HR process, and the logs show what they touched. I'd rather show you that than just tell you.
- Tom AshdownLet's show them the demo, then, and Tobias can take the rest of the access questions afterwards.
- Tobias RenwickAgreed. I'll share the screen. The data is a sample of your placements, so nothing live leaves the room.
- Tobias RenwickHere's the front page. It's a chat box and a set of pages. Let's ask it something real.
- Nichola HoggWhich finance placements have gone quiet in the last month?
- Tobias RenwickGood question. Watch the answer, it'll show you which consultant last updated each candidate.
- Chantelle ErringtonOh, that's useful. Could I see the candidate page for one of them?
- Tobias RenwickYes, click through. The page pulls the notes from the CRM, the emails and the call recordings, and the spreadsheet if you still keep one.
- Chantelle ErringtonWe do keep one. It's the one everyone swears they don't use.
- Nichola HoggCan it tell me which clients haven't had a call in a while?
- Tobias RenwickIt can, from the call data. The trade-off is that it only knows what was recorded. If a consultant rang from a mobile without recording, it won't show up.
- Nichola HoggSo we'd need everyone recording.
- Tobias RenwickOr at least the important ones. I'd say that's a process question for you, rather than a technology one.
- Chantelle ErringtonOkay. Next thing, can it draft an email to the client about a placement?
- Tobias RenwickNot in the version you'd be buying today, and I'm not going to promise a date for it. I'd rather be clear than give you a date I can't stand behind.
- Tom AshdownFair. Let's put that down as a question for later and keep it honest.
- Chantelle ErringtonFine. Can I see the dashboard? The margin one Geoff talked about?
- Tobias RenwickDashboards are part of the larger tier, not Starter. I'd rather show you what Starter does well, and then we can talk about whether you'll outgrow it.
- Nichola HoggThat's honest. I'd sooner have the one that works.
- Tom AshdownRight, I've got time for one more question each. Nichola, what would make this worth the money for you?
- Nichola HoggIf I stop getting asked where a placement stands, that's a win. I'd get my Mondays back.
- Chantelle ErringtonMe too. If I can find a consultant's last note in a minute, not twenty, that's a win.
- Tobias RenwickThat's the measure I'd use as well. Ask the question, and see whether the answer changes the meeting.
- Nichola HoggCould we see the refresh? If I've got a placement that updated this morning, does it show?
- Tobias RenwickThe nightly refresh is complete by seven in the morning on business days, so anything from last night is in. Anything from this morning waits for tomorrow's refresh.
- Nichola HoggSo I'd still need to ring the consultant for this morning's news.
- Tobias RenwickYes. I'd rather you know that now than get surprised by it in a month.
- Chantelle ErringtonGood, that's clear. Can we have the login list and the sample data sent over?
- Tom AshdownI'll send the summary and the login list. Leave that with me.
- Tobias RenwickI'll also send the security pack. It covers where the data sits and the access logs we discussed.
- Chantelle ErringtonGreat. Thanks, that's helpful.
- Nichola HoggYep. Thanks both. Speak soon.
- Tom AshdownCheers, all. I'll get something in the diary for next week, for Geoff.
- Tobias RenwickThanks everyone. Speak soon.
- Chantelle ErringtonBye.
