What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Lynne Featherstone, Head of Care Operations, watched a demo of B-Viz on incidents, fee invoices and home contacts. She wants a security pack, access detail and a sample on her own data before security and IT review.
What happened: Tom Ashdown and Tobias Renwick demonstrated plain-English questions, source tracing, fee invoices beside incidents for one home, and typo-tolerant incident search.
Customer view: Lynne's main issue is family and commissioner contacts. She said "When a commissioner rings, I need to know what was billed." She accepted that late logging by managers will show as late.
Commercial: This is a pre-sale demo. Her security team will ask first where the data sits, and the answer is that B-Viz runs inside the customer's own Snowflake account. She asked for an IT conversation, which points to an Enterprise-style security review.
Watch: Tobias declined to answer the commissioner data question on the spot and promised a written reply. Lynne could not say how current the invoice feed is and needs to check with finance. Her attention dropped for part of the call.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Tom Ashdown to send the security pack to Lynne Featherstone.
- Tobias Renwick to send the access detail and the written answer on commissioner data.
- Set up a short session with her IT colleague, then run the sample once her security team agrees.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The commissioner data question was left unanswered on the call and needs a written reply.
- Security and IT sign-off is still ahead, and the security team has not yet been involved.
- Accuracy depends on how promptly homes log contacts and how current the invoice feed is.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- A sample on a small extract of Commondale Care's own data could move the deal to proposal.
- A session with her IT colleague could open the security review.
Transcript
- Tobias RenwickMorning Lynne, Tom. Thanks for setting aside the time. Before we start, what will your security team need to see?
- Lynne FeatherstoneMorning. Well, they'll want to know where the data sits, who can see it, and whether it leaves our control at all.
- Tobias RenwickGood. To be precise, B-Viz runs inside your own Snowflake account. Your data stays in your account. We don't copy it into ours.
- Lynne FeatherstoneRight. That's the thing they'll ask about first, so that helps.
- Tobias RenwickThe honest answer is they'll also want to see access. I'd suggest they look at how permissions are set per user and per home, and I'm happy to walk them through that.
- Tom AshdownNo drama, Lynne, we can set that up. Tobias is the right person to go through the detail with your security team.
- Lynne FeatherstoneOkay. Can we see how it actually looks with our kind of data?
- Tobias RenwickThat's what the demo is for. Tom, do you want to start with the sample data, or with Lynne's examples?
- Tom AshdownLet's do the sample first, so it's quick, then we'll move on to the home contacts.
- Tom AshdownRight. Here's a question in plain English: which families have been contacted about an incident this month?
- Tobias RenwickNotice it answers from the records, and it shows where each answer came from. That's the bit I'd want your security people to look at.
- Lynne FeatherstoneThat's useful. Can it show the source?
- Tobias RenwickIt can. The trade-off is that the answer is only as good as the source records. If a home logs a contact late, it'll show late.
- Lynne FeatherstoneYes, that's what I'd expect. Our managers aren't always brilliant at logging things on the day.
- Tom AshdownNo drama, that's normal. It's the same problem as before, just visible now.
- Tobias RenwickQuite. It doesn't fix bad habits, but it makes them visible, which is often what people need.
- Lynne FeatherstoneRight. Can we see invoices next to incidents?
- Tom AshdownGood question, let's try that. Tobias, can you show fee invoices for one home alongside its incidents?
- Tobias RenwickYes. Here's one home, its incidents on the left and its fee invoices on the right, with the dates. It doesn't mix them up because it reads each record in its own table.
- Lynne FeatherstoneThat's exactly what I'd want. When a commissioner rings, I need to know what was billed.
- Tobias RenwickThen the honest answer is you'll want the fee data to be current. How often do the invoices come through from your accounting side?
- Lynne FeatherstoneI'd need to check that with our finance side, to be honest.
- Tobias RenwickThat's fine. Our refresh runs nightly, so once the feed is in place it stays current, but the source has to be current too.
- Tom AshdownLovely. Let's pull back to the home contacts, since that's Lynne's main issue.
- Lynne FeatherstoneYes. Family and commissioner contacts. Can each home see only its own people?
- Tobias RenwickYes. Access is per home and per role. The trade-off is that you have to set the roles up carefully at the start, or people can see more than they should.
- Lynne FeatherstoneI'd like to have that conversation with someone in IT as well.
- Tobias RenwickGood. Let's set up a short session with your IT colleague. I won't promise a timeline on features from here, but the access controls are in place now.
- Lynne FeatherstoneThat's helpful. Thank you.
- Tom AshdownShall we have a quick look at the incident search? Let's see how it handles a typo.
- Tobias RenwickGo on, type it wrong on purpose.
- Tom AshdownRight. Incidnet. Here we go, it's found it anyway.
- Lynne FeatherstoneHa, that's clever. Our managers will type it badly every time.
- Tobias RenwickThat's the point. It's built to cope with that. I'd rather it guessed sensibly than made people spell perfectly.
- Lynne FeatherstoneSorry, I'm just checking a note from the last home visit.
- Tobias RenwickTake your time.
- Lynne FeatherstoneRight, sorry, I'm back. What happens with the commissioner data?
- Tobias RenwickI'd rather not give you a rushed answer. Let me check the detail and come back to you in writing.
- Tom AshdownWe'll put that in the note, Lynne. Tobias will send the access detail too.
- Tobias RenwickYes. And please pass on that the trade-off on late logging still holds. The tool shows what's in the records.
- Lynne FeatherstoneFine.
- Tom AshdownRight, we're coming up to time. Let me check what Lynne needs from us.
- Lynne FeatherstoneThe security pack, the access detail, and a sample with our own kind of data.
- Tobias RenwickGood. We can do the sample with a small extract from your side, once your security team agrees.
- Tom AshdownLovely. Leave the security pack with me, I'll get that to you. No drama.
- Lynne FeatherstoneThank you both. Really helpful.
- Tobias RenwickThank you for your time. Take care.
- Tom AshdownCheers Lynne, I'll be in touch later this week.
- Lynne FeatherstoneBye.
- Tobias RenwickBest wishes.
