What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Onboarding call with Liam Sedgwick, ERP Analyst. The read-only order connector is live and has synced. Complaints mailbox owner and the credit notes export owner are still unconfirmed, and the credit notes export may be messy.
What happened: Hamza Akhtar set up a read-only service user on the order system and ran the first sync. Liam was surprised by the volume, and the retailer codes will be mapped on the next call.
Customer view: Liam is cooperative and wants the access scope in writing for his IT people. He is unsure about the credit notes, saying "Finance have been sitting on that export for ages, so it might be a bit messy when it lands."
Commercial: Early adoption depends on the three connectors going green. A broken or stale credit notes source would weaken the first value case.
Watch: The complaints mailbox is shared and Melanie's team reads it most, so her agreement is needed. Only Liam, an analyst, was on the call, and no decision-maker was present.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Hamza Akhtar to send the onboarding plan with owners and dates and the written read-only scope.
- Liam Sedgwick to confirm the complaints mailbox owner with Melanie and the finance contact for the credit notes export.
- Hamza Akhtar and Liam Sedgwick to map the retailer codes on the next call.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The credit notes export may arrive messy and its finance owner is not yet confirmed.
- The complaints mailbox owner is unconfirmed, which could delay the second connector.
- Many retailer codes are unrecognised and need mapping before answers read clearly.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- A clean first sync across every retailer account gives an early proof of value.
- Read-only scope in writing should speed IT approval.
Transcript
- Hamza AkhtarMorning Liam, can you hear me all right?
- Liam SedgwickYep, loud and clear. Sorry, I was on mute, my phone has been going all morning.
- Hamza AkhtarNo bother at all. Shall we crack on? I've got the connector list up on my screen.
- Liam SedgwickGo on then. Is it just the order system and the complaints feed today?
- Hamza AkhtarThat's the plan. We'll do the order management connector first, then the complaints mailbox. Credit notes come after those two are green. Does that match what you had in mind?
- Liam SedgwickMostly. The credit notes bit is the one I'm not sure about. Finance have been sitting on that export for ages, so it might be a bit messy when it lands.
- Hamza AkhtarRight, that's useful to know. We'll look at it when we get there. Do you know who owns that export on their side?
- Liam SedgwickProbably our finance team, though I'd have to check with them first. I'll drop you a note after this.
- Hamza AkhtarLovely. So, connector one. I've set up the read-only service user on the order system. Can you see it in the admin panel?
- Liam SedgwickHang on... yeah, it's there. Shows as active. Is that the right level, though? It's only read access, yeah?
- Hamza AkhtarRead only, yes. Nothing gets written back into your system. I'll put the exact scope in writing so you can send it to your IT people.
- Liam SedgwickBrilliant, that'll save me chasing them. They're always slow on these.
- Hamza AkhtarHappy to. The first sync has run, so do you want to see what's come through? Orders from the last week, mostly.
- Liam SedgwickYes, go on. Oh, that's actually a lot more than I expected. Is that every retailer or just the big ones?
- Hamza AkhtarEvery retailer account that's set up in the order system. The short answer is yes, all of them. The longer answer is that some of the smaller accounts have odd codes, so they'll look different. I'll show you one.
- Liam SedgwickRight, mm. I can see the codes. Half of them I don't recognise, honestly.
- Hamza AkhtarThat's normal at this stage. We'll map them together. Can we do that properly next time, rather than now?
- Liam SedgwickYeah, that's fine. Better than me guessing and getting it wrong in front of the customer service team.
- Hamza AkhtarExactly. Right, complaints mailbox. Who's the mailbox owner on your side? Is it customer service or is it shared?
- Liam SedgwickShared, really. Melanie's team reads it most, but anyone can get into it. I'd check with Melanie before we start pointing things at it.
- Hamza AkhtarFine, let's do that. I'll leave it as a pending item and we'll confirm the owner by email. Does that work?
- Liam SedgwickWorks for me. Sorry, my cat's just walked across the keyboard, ignore the noise.
- Hamza AkhtarNo problem at all. Let's move on to the sync schedule. The nightly refresh should be complete by seven in the morning on business days. Is that going to be a problem for your team?
- Liam SedgwickSeven's fine. Most people are in by eight anyway, so it'll be ready for them.
- Hamza AkhtarBrilliant. Then to finish, I'll send you the onboarding plan with owners and dates, and you'll confirm the mailbox owner and the finance contact. Anything else from your side before we wrap?
- Liam SedgwickNo, I think that's it. Just send it over in writing, I'll forward it on to everyone.
- Hamza AkhtarWill do. Thanks Liam, speak next week.
- Liam SedgwickCheers Hamza, bye.
