What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Demo to Donna Wragg's team on sample data went well: Carl Ibbotson is sold if it works on their own data. Price is the open question for Terry, and a Starter at twenty-five and a half thousand pounds in total is pencilled, not quoted.
What happened: Nell Ashcombe and Tobias Renwick demoed B-Viz on sample data on 31 May 2023. Donna, Jodie Burkinshaw and Carl attended; Terry was not on the call.
Customer view: Donna wants to stop consultants stitching roles, placements and invoices together by hand. Carl said it puts placements and money on one page, and Donna said it is simpler than she thought.
Commercial: Nell pencilled a Starter at twenty-five and a half thousand pounds in total, implementation included, aiming to decide by 17 Jul 2023. Donna said Terry will ask what that is a year, so the proposal must separate one-off and yearly parts.
Watch: the Starter tier limits connectors, and Jodie wants the recruitment database, accounting and Microsoft 365 mailboxes. She also worries about messy data.

- Nell to hold a proposal call with Donna and Terry that separates the one-off and yearly parts.
- Donna to get a time in Terry's diary, with a decision aimed for 17 Jul 2023.
Risks

- The Starter connector limit may not cover the recruitment database, accounting system and mailboxes.
- Jodie is worried about duplicate candidates and odd job titles in their data.
Opportunities

Transcript
- Nell AshcombeAfternoon, Donna. Can you hear us all right? Tobias is with me as well.
- Donna WraggHiya, yes, loud and clear. Jodie's just getting herself a brew and Carl's running about two minutes behind. He's on the phone to a client.
- Tobias RenwickNo problem at all. Good afternoon, Donna. It's grey down here in London, I assume it's no better in Doncaster.
- Donna WraggChucking it down. Typical for the end of May. Oh, here's Jodie.
- Jodie BurkinshawSorry, sorry. Hello. Can you see my screen name okay? I've got the wrong headset in.
- Nell AshcombeWe can hear you fine. Before we start, what do you each need to leave with? Donna, you first.
- Donna WraggHonestly, what the consultants complained about last week. They've got roles in one system, placements in another, invoices somewhere else. They spend half a morning stitching it together. I want to see if this stops that. Keep it simple for the consultants.
- Nell AshcombeGood. That's the test, then. Jodie?
- Jodie BurkinshawI look after the recruitment system, so I want to know what it takes to connect things and who has to keep it running. I don't want another thing that only I understand.
- Nell AshcombeFair. Tobias will cover that part. Right, Carl, welcome, you made it.
- Carl IbbotsonHi all, sorry. Client wanted a driver by Friday, as they always do. I'm the one who'll use it, so shout if I'm in the way.
- Nell AshcombeYou're exactly who we want. I'm going to share my screen now. This is B-Viz sitting on sample data shaped like yours, roles, placements, invoices, candidate notes. Carl, give me a client you'd normally chase.
- Carl IbbotsonUm. Go with the big logistics one, the depot in Rotherham. They rebook every quarter, or they used to.
- Nell AshcombeOkay. So I'm typing, in plain words, which roles has this client filled this year and what have we invoiced them. Watch.
- Carl IbbotsonOh. That's the placements and the money on one page. I'd normally have three tabs open for that.
- Donna WraggWhich client is that, in the demo? Is it a real one of ours?
- Nell AshcombeSample data for today. In the pilot it would be yours, pulled from your own systems.
- Donna WraggRight. Does it save my lot time, though? That's what I keep asking.
- Nell AshcombeWhat would B-Viz say? Let's ask it. How long did the last three placements take from brief to start?
- Jodie BurkinshawMm. And that's calculated from the dates in the system, not something someone typed in?
- Nell AshcombeFrom the records themselves. Click the source link and it shows you which rows it used. Say what happened, say how you know. That's the rule we hold ourselves to.
- Carl IbbotsonCan I try one? What did we last say to the Barnsley warehouse manager?
- Nell AshcombeGo for it. Ask it straight. Same words you'd use in the office.
- Carl IbbotsonHa. It's found the email and the call note. That's, yeah, that would've taken me ten minutes.
- Donna WraggSee, that I'd pay attention to. Terry won't care how clever it is. He'll want to know what it costs.
- Nell AshcombeUnderstood, and we'll get to that properly when we all talk again. Today is about whether it works for the people doing the job. Tobias, can you take Jodie's side now?
- Tobias RenwickOf course. To be precise, B-Viz is built and run inside your own Snowflake account, so the data doesn't leave your control. The trade-off is that someone on your side needs to own that account, though it's a light job. Jodie, what systems would you want connected first?
- Jodie BurkinshawThe recruitment database, obviously. Then our accounting system for the invoices. And the mailboxes, if that's possible. We use Microsoft 365.
- Tobias RenwickMicrosoft 365 is one we connect to. The honest answer is the Starter tier has a limit on how many sources you can plug in, so we'd choose the ones that earn their keep first and add more later if you outgrow it.
- Jodie BurkinshawAnd if a connector breaks? Who do I ring?
- Tobias RenwickYou raise a ticket and our team picks it up. Jodie, I'd also ask you to tell us whenever you change a system on your side, because that's the usual reason a source stops loading. It's nobody's fault, it just helps us to know.
- Donna WraggIs it fiddly for the consultants to log in? They won't do anything with a password reset every week.
- Nell AshcombeIt's a web page and a chat box. If they can use a search engine they can use this. We can do a short session with the team so nobody's guessing.
- Carl IbbotsonOne more from me. Can it tell me which candidates I've gone quiet on? The ones I meant to ring back.
- Nell AshcombeTry it. Ask who you've not contacted in a while.
- Carl IbbotsonRight. Yeah. That's embarrassing but useful.
- Donna WraggHa, don't show Terry that one.
- Nell AshcombeLet me pause there. What have we missed? Anything you expected to see that you haven't?
- Jodie BurkinshawI'd like to see how it copes with messy data. Ours isn't tidy. Duplicate candidates, odd job titles.
- Tobias RenwickA fair concern, and I won't pretend it's solved by magic. When we load your data we'd show you what we found, duplicates included, before anyone relies on the answers. It's better you see it than discover it later.
- Donna WraggOkay. I like it. I'll be honest, it's simpler than I thought. What happens next?
- Nell AshcombeNext I'd like to put a proposal in front of you and Terry. The deal we have pencilled is a Starter, twenty-five and a half thousand pounds in total, implementation included, with the aim of deciding by 17 Jul 2023. That's the figure on our side, not a final quote.
- Donna WraggRight, twenty-five and a half all in. Terry will ask what that is a year, mind.
- Nell AshcombeWe'll separate the two clearly on the proposal call, so he can see the one-off part and the yearly part. Nothing hidden.
- Donna WraggLovely. I'll get a time in Terry's diary. Jodie, Carl, anything else?
- Carl IbbotsonNo, I'm sold on the idea if it works like that on our own stuff.
- Jodie BurkinshawI'd like the connector list written down, please, so I can check it against what we run.
- Tobias RenwickI'll send that over tomorrow, with a one-page note on how the Snowflake side works.
- Nell AshcombeBrilliant. Thanks, everyone. Speak soon.
- Donna WraggTa, bye all.
