What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Leanne Partington and Sajid Iqbal agreed the connector order (ERP, helpdesk, accounting) and a small first user group. Their pain is a wrong print run that took three people in three systems to trace. Only one or two of forty seats are in use.
What happened: Laura Penhaligon walked through the sources and agreed the order: ERP, helpdesk, accounting. Sajid will send the table list and a brand spreadsheet, and Leanne will name the first users.
Customer view: Leanne wants to ask what the customer saw, what was shipped and what was invoiced in one go. The wrong print run on a drinks brand delivery is the example to build the first week around.
Commercial: The Growth tier gives eight connectors and four are planned, so there is room. Sajid said the average is one or two people logging in against forty seats, which Laura called normal at this stage.
Watch: The ERP extract sometimes overruns at month end, which would slip freshness when credit are chasing. Brand mapping needs an owner on the customer side, and big brands email account managers instead of logging tickets.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Sajid to send the extract table list and the brand spreadsheet.
- Leanne to name the first group of users.
- Laura to send a connector plan in the order ERP, helpdesk, accounting.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The ERP extract occasionally overruns at month end, which would leave data stale when credit are chasing.
- Only one or two of the forty Growth seats are in use so far.
- Brand roll-up needs a customer-side owner, and large brands email account managers so complaints go unlogged.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- The wrong print run complaint gives a concrete first use case that could show value quickly.
- Four connectors are planned against eight in the Growth tier, leaving room to add mailboxes later.
Transcript
- Laura PenhaligonHello, afternoon both. Can you hear me all right? I've got the recording going, so just so you know.
- Leanne PartingtonAfternoon Laura. Yes, loud and clear. Sajid's just coming in, he's been stuck on the phone with the plant.
- Sajid IqbalSorry, sorry, I'm here. Two minutes of dropped lines and a pallet label problem. Hi Laura.
- Leanne PartingtonWhich is actually my complaint of the week, so let me just say it. One of our drinks brands got a delivery where half the cases had the wrong print run. Which brand, which line? We still don't know for certain, because it took three of us in three different systems to work it out.
- Laura PenhaligonRight, and that's more or less the thing you bought B-Viz for, isn't it. Order, complaint and invoice in one place.
- Leanne PartingtonExactly that. What did the customer see, what did we ship, what did we invoice. I'd like to be able to ask it in one go. Anyway. Over to you, I'll stop moaning.
- Laura PenhaligonNo, it's useful, it's a good example to build the first week around. So, today I want to do three things. Walk through where we've got to, agree which sources we connect first and who owns each one, and then talk about how you roll it out to the forty people on your licence. Does that sound right?
- Sajid IqbalYeah. Forty seats, though honestly at the moment it's me and Leanne poking around. I think the average is one or two people logging in.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's about what I'd expect at this stage, nothing to worry about. We've only just got your Snowflake account set up, so there's not much to look at yet. That's why I want to get the first connectors live.
- Sajid IqbalRight. Do you want me to say what we've got? So the big one is the ERP, that's where orders, lines, despatch and delivery confirmations live. Then the CRM that key accounts use, which is, let's say, patchy. Then the helpdesk for complaints, and the accounting system for invoices and credit.
- Laura PenhaligonGood, that's four, and the Growth tier gives you eight connectors, so there's room. Which would you put first?
- Leanne PartingtonOrders and complaints. If I can see an order and the complaint against it, I'm happy. Credit can come second, they'll want invoices next to orders but the complaint side is what hurts me weekly.
- Sajid IqbalI'd say ERP first, because everything hangs off the order number. If the complaints don't join to the order properly, it's a mess. So ERP, then helpdesk, then accounting.
- Laura PenhaligonThat makes sense to me. Sajid, on the ERP, is it something we can read from directly, or do you export?
- Sajid IqbalExport, mostly. We've got a scheduled extract that drops files overnight. I'd rather not point anything at the live database, the plant would have my head.
- Laura PenhaligonPerfectly fine, we do that a lot. Files land, we load them into your Snowflake account, and the nightly refresh picks them up so it's all there by seven in the morning on business days. The only catch is if the extract runs late, then the freshness slips.
- Sajid IqbalIt usually finishes around the early hours. Occasionally it overruns at month end. I'll flag that.
- Leanne PartingtonMonth end is when credit are chasing, so that would be the worst moment for stale data. Just saying.
- Laura PenhaligonNoted, and I'll write it down as a thing to watch. Sajid, could you send me the list of tables or files in the extract? I'd like to see the field names for order, line, customer and delivery.
- Sajid IqbalSure. Some of the field names are awful, to be fair. Half of them are abbreviations from a system that predates everyone here.
- Laura PenhaligonHa, we've seen worse. Send it as it is and we'll map them together on the next call.
- Leanne PartingtonCan I ask something about brands? We've got brands that share a parent company, and some that changed name. Will it cope with that or will I see two brands for the same customer?
- Laura PenhaligonIt will do whatever the data tells it, so if the ERP holds two account codes you'll see two. What we can do is build a small mapping so they roll up under the one brand. Someone on your side has to own that list, though. It's not something we can guess.
- Leanne PartingtonThat'd be me and the key accounts team. Let's close it today, who's got the master list? Sajid, don't you have a spreadsheet?
- Sajid IqbalI have a spreadsheet. It's not master anything, but it's a start. I'll tidy it and send it with the table list.
- Laura PenhaligonLovely. Now, the helpdesk. How are complaints logged today? Is every complaint a ticket, or do some live in email?
- Leanne PartingtonMostly tickets, but the big brands email their account manager directly and it never gets logged. I'd like that to change, but that's a people thing, not a B-Viz thing.
- Laura PenhaligonAgreed. We can connect mailboxes later if you want, but I'd get the ticket data flowing first and see how far it takes you. Then we can say honestly what's missing.
- Sajid IqbalIs there anything we need to do on access? I raised one ticket last week because I couldn't see the admin settings, and someone told me it was fixed, but I wasn't sure what had changed.
- Laura PenhaligonYes, I saw that. Your admin role had been set up without the connector permissions, so that was our side. It should be right now. Can you check you see the connectors page?
- Sajid IqbalOne sec. Yeah, I can see it. Connectors, and the user list. Good.
- Laura PenhaligonGreat. So, rollout. Leanne, thinking about the forty seats, who are the first handful you want asking questions?
- Leanne PartingtonCustomer service team leaders, two key account managers and someone from credit. Not everybody at once. I want people who'll actually use it and tell me when it's rubbish.
- Laura PenhaligonThat's the right instinct. A small group, a few real questions each, such as the print run example you gave. Then we widen it. I'd suggest we run a short session for that group once the first connector is live.
- Leanne PartingtonFine. But I won't promise the plant anything about what comes out of it. If it shows a delivery date, it has to be one the plant has confirmed.
- Laura PenhaligonUnderstood. B-Viz only shows what's in the data, so if the ERP holds the confirmed date, that's the one you'll see. Sajid, is that a distinct field?
- Sajid IqbalThere's a requested date, a promised date and an actual despatch. The promised one is what the plant confirms. I'll point it out in the list.
- Laura PenhaligonPerfect. Right, let me recap so we're all clear. Sajid sends the table list and the brand spreadsheet. Leanne names the first group of users. I send a connector plan with the order we agreed: ERP, helpdesk, accounting. And we pick up again next week to map the fields.
- Leanne PartingtonThat's it. Thanks Laura. Sajid, shout if the plant steals you again.
- Sajid IqbalWill do. Thanks both, speak soon.
- Laura PenhaligonCheers everyone, bye.
