Problem: Aaron Crowther could not change user roles or remove a leaver, because the role option was greyed out before a recruiting intake.
Handling: Olivia Grant made him an admin, explaining that only an existing admin can change the default user role. If the option stayed greyed out for his team lead, she asked him to let her know.
Watch: The customer called the issue urgent, and access changes depended on BG-Demo granting admin rights.

created · Aaron Crowther 14 May 2025 16:31Hi, we need to remove a leaver from the workspace and give our team lead admin rights so she can manage user access for the recruiters. I've tried changing the role from the user list but the option is greyed out for me, so I'm not sure whether it's a permissions issue on my side. We have 40 licensed users, so it's a bit urgent before the next intake starts. Thanks, Aaron- Public reply · Olivia Grant 14 May 2025 22:19Hi Aaron, thanks for getting in touch. The greyed-out role option usually means the account was added with the default user role, which can only be changed by an existing admin. I've checked your account and made you an admin, so the option should now be available in the user list. You can remove the leaver from the users page and then assign admin rights to your team lead. If the option is still greyed out for her, let me know and I'll take a look at her account. Olivia
