What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Nigel Fairbrother, Finance Director, replied to the renewal notice asking for named usage by team and the base for the rise from £40k to £44k. Daniel Okafor conceded regular use is a fraction of the 40 licences.
Ask: Nigel wants names by team, not a headline percentage, and an explanation of the rise per contract. He will not accept an increase without understanding the base, and wants usage before the quote.
Customer view: sceptical but engaged. He is weighing cost against margin on the accounts that benefit, and relies on Sharon Tilley for the view from the control room.
Next: Daniel will send a one-page usage summary by team and Lewis Kerr will put a co-termed quote in writing. Daniel explained that the first-term discount does not carry into the second term.

- Daniel Okafor 6 Mar 2026 11:45Dear Nigel, I hope the week has been kind to you. I'm writing, as promised when we last spoke, to give you formal notice that the Marlcliff Growth subscription comes up for renewal. The current term ends on 4 Jun 2026, and I wanted you to have plenty of time to look at it properly rather than meet it at the last minute. For reference, the contracted annual value today is £39,600, covering 40 licensed users on Growth. The renewal is open on our side at £44,000, and Lewis, copied here, will confirm exactly how that is made up and put the quote in writing. We are aiming to have everything agreed around 26 May 2026, which leaves a comfortable gap before the term ends. On adoption, I'm pleased to say the picture is a good one. Far more people on your side are using B-Viz than at the start of the year, and the account managers and the control room are asking more of it each week. There have been no support tickets at all recently, and your invoices have been paid on time throughout, for which thank you. If it would help, I can pull together a short usage summary before we talk about the commercial side, so you can see who is asking what. Just to close the loop, there is nothing you need to do today. I would simply like to find a time over the next few weeks to go through it with you. Best wishes, Daniel Daniel Okafor Customer Success Manager, BG-Demo
- Nigel Fairbrother 10 Mar 2026 17:49Daniel, Thanks for the notice. Two questions. Who is actually using it? We pay for 40 users. I'd like names by team, not a headline percentage. Sharon tells me the control room likes it, but I want to see it before the renewal. Second, the renewal figure is higher than what we pay now. What's that per contract? I need to know what it costs us against the margin on the accounts that benefit, and I'm not going to accept a rise without understanding the base. No rush on the quote, but I'd rather have the usage first. Nigel Fairbrother
- Daniel Okafor 13 Mar 2026 11:50Dear Nigel, Thank you for the quick reply, and for being so direct. It helps. On usage, I'll send you a one-page summary by team early next week: who is logging in, what they are asking, and which sites and clients they are looking at. I'll say plainly that the group using it regularly is still a fraction of the 40 licences. It has grown a great deal this quarter, though, and the account managers and the control room are the ones driving it. I would rather you saw the real shape of it than a flattering average. On the price, you are right to want the base. The contracted annual value today is £39,600. The renewal is currently open at £44,000, and the difference is mainly that the discount on your first term does not carry into the second. Lewis will set out the working in the quote, co-termed to your renewal, so you can see exactly what has changed and what has not. Lewis, I'll leave that with you. I know you will not want to decide anything on a call, and that's perfectly fine. I'll come back to you by the middle of next week with the usage summary, and we can then find a short slot to go through it together with Sharon if she is free. How is the team finding it day to day? I'd be glad to hear whatever Sharon is passing on to you. Best wishes, Daniel Daniel Okafor Customer Success Manager, BG-Demo
