What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Nigel Fairbrother, Finance Director, challenges the £52k plus VAT figure. He wants the one-off and recurring split, weekly users and cost per contract, and usage reporting before renewal. He will decide nothing by email.
Ask: Nigel wants the base explained, the VAT position on both parts, and how many people would use it weekly. Contracts are priced by the guarding hour and the margin is thin, so "a tool that three people open is not worth it".
Customer view: sceptical and value-led. He also wants usage reporting shown before the renewal, not after.
Next: Lewis sends the split, the user numbers and the reporting detail, then talks with Sharon and Nigel.

- Lewis Kerr 22 Apr 2025 08:27Nigel, Sharon, Following our walkthrough, I attach the proposal for B-Viz on the Growth tier, covering customer operations, the control room and credit control, running inside your own Snowflake account. To put a number on it: the total value of the deal is £51,600 plus VAT. That figure includes the one-off implementation fee, so it is not the annual subscription on its own. The proposal sets out the two parts separately, and I would ask you to read them from there rather than rely on this email. Nigel, I know you will want to see what it is used for before you weigh the cost. The proposal lists the first connections we would make and the teams who would use it day to day. I would be glad to go through any of it with you. The date I am working towards is 22 May 2025, but that is a target and not a deadline. If you need more time or more information first, tell me. I'll send that over today in a shorter form too if it helps you forward it internally. Kind regards, Lewis
- Nigel Fairbrother 23 Apr 2025 08:37Lewis, Read it. A few points. £51,600 on its own tells me nothing. What is the base? You say it includes implementation, so give me the split between the one-off and the recurring, and say whether VAT sits on both. Second, who is actually using it? Sharon has told me what it could do for the account managers. I want to know how many people would use it every week, and what that comes to per contract, as our contracts are priced by the guarding hour and the margin is thin. A tool that three people open is not worth it to me. Third, show me before the renewal what usage looks like, not after. What reporting do we get? I am not deciding anything on the back of an email. Send the answers and we can talk with Sharon. Nigel Fairbrother
