What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Policy and claims connected by 31 Jan 2024. Tariq says the policy system is the member number master and claims carries a prefix on older records. Helpline access is now approved. Callie raised who goes first among 80 licensed users.
Ask: Callie needed Tariq's view on which member number format is master and whether older members differ. She would not call the mapping clean until tested with known members.
Customer view: Tariq named policy as master and described a prefix on some older claims records. He cautioned that he had not tested every record, so it is not final.
Next: Tariq to send helpline access in writing and meet Wednesday morning. Callie will test the mapping then and send a setup note.

- Callie Brennan 31 Jan 2024 09:57Hi Tariq, Thanks for your time yesterday. Policy and claims are now both connected, which is a good start. Here is where we've got to and what is left: - policy and claims: connected, first records loading - member number: the two systems format it differently, so I've drafted a mapping but have not confirmed it - helpline system: still waiting on access What I need from your side is a view on the member number. Can you tell me which format you want to be the master, and whether older members have a different style? I won't say it maps cleanly until I've checked it against a handful of known members with you. Could we find a slot for a short session on the helpline once access arrives? I'm free most mornings next week. Thanks, Callie
- Tariq Mahmood 5 Feb 2024 17:40Hi Callie, Apologies, I meant to reply sooner. I checked last night's load and both policy and claims finished well before the morning. On the member number: the policy system is the master, and claims stores the same number with a prefix on some older records. That's the awkward part. I'd treat the policy format as the one to keep and strip the prefix on the claims side. I haven't tested that on every record, so please don't take it as final. The telephony team have now approved access for the helpline system. I'll send the details in writing tomorrow. Wednesday morning would suit me for the session. Thanks, Tariq
- Callie Brennan 7 Feb 2024 09:03Hi Tariq, That helps a lot, thank you. The prefix explains the mismatches I was seeing, so I'll build the mapping on the policy format and strip the prefix from claims. Before we switch on the refresh for it, I'll test against a few members you pick, so the match is checked rather than assumed. Plan from here: - you send the helpline access details in writing - we meet Wednesday morning for the helpline connector - I test the member number mapping with you in the same session - after that I'll send the setup note Once all three sources are in, we can start inviting people. You have 80 licensed users, so it's worth deciding early who goes first: member services, underwriting or claims. Thanks, Callie
