What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Jenny described client queries, deadlines and fees spread across several places. Nicholas will want a business case and a total price. Zoe would set it up. A demo on their own data is to be booked.
What happened: Priya ran a discovery call with Jenny. Nicholas and Zoe were not on the call.
Customer view: Jenny said "One screen. Client, open queries, next deadline, what's been billed." Fees, emails and a partner's spreadsheet are separate, so answering a client call means flicking between tabs.
Commercial: Nicholas will want a business case before anything and a total, not a monthly figure. Price was deferred until after the demo, and the evidence does not show a tier or any figure.
Watch: Whether the practice system can connect directly or needs an export is unanswered. Priya passed it to Hannah, and Zoe will ask about permissions.

Transcript
- Priya RamanHi Jenny, thanks for making time. I know it's the afternoon and your diary's probably mad, so let's make this useful.
- Jenny TretheweyHello Priya. It's been chaotic, but the afternoon's quiet for once.
- Priya RamanGreat. So this is discovery. I want to understand how the practice runs day to day, and then next time we'll show you something on your own data. Does that sound right?
- Jenny TretheweyYes. I should say up front, Nicholas will want a business case before anything, so I'm taking notes for him.
- Priya RamanPerfect, that's really helpful. Let's start with the pain. What keeps you up at night?
- Jenny TretheweyHonestly, it's clients. Each one has a query, a deadline and a fee, and those live in several places.
- Priya RamanWhere's the fee?
- Jenny TretheweyThe practice system. The queries come in by email, and the deadlines are in a spreadsheet one of the partners keeps. Which is fine until he's on holiday.
- Priya RamanHa, I've seen that before. The spreadsheet always has one person's name on it.
- Jenny TretheweyExactly. So when a client rings, we're flicking between tabs for ages before anyone can answer.
- Priya RamanHow often does that happen?
- Jenny TretheweyMost days. The farm clients are the worst, because their queries are seasonal and they all land at once.
- Priya RamanThat's a great example. If you could wave a wand, what would good look like?
- Jenny TretheweyOne screen. Client, open queries, next deadline, what's been billed. And someone else able to see it without asking me.
- Priya RamanThat's really clear. Who else would use it? Just you, or the client managers?
- Jenny TretheweyThe client managers, definitely. Zoe would set it up, she's our systems person.
- Priya RamanZoe, got it. I'll make this easy for her when we get to the demo.
- Jenny TretheweyShe'll like that. She hates anything with a long set-up.
- Priya RamanLet's talk about what you're using now. Is anything connected to the practice system?
- Jenny TretheweyNot really. There's a document folder and the client emails. Nothing talks to anything else, which is why it's all manual.
- Priya RamanOkay. Right, let's talk timing. Nicholas wants a business case, you want Zoe in the demo. Shall I book the demo for the next few weeks? To keep momentum.
- Jenny TretheweyYes please. Zoe's free most afternoons.
- Priya RamanBrilliant. I'll send the invite today. Could you pick a few clients to look at on screen? Anonymised is fine.
- Jenny TretheweyI'll choose a few. Does it need the practice system directly, or can we export?
- Priya RamanGood question. I'll get Hannah to answer that properly, she knows the connectors and I don't want to guess.
- Jenny TretheweyFair enough.
- Jenny TretheweySorry, a client's just come through on the other line. Give me two minutes.
- Priya RamanNo problem, take your time.
- Jenny TretheweySorry about that. Where were we?
- Priya RamanPrice, I think. Anything I've missed?
- Jenny TretheweyOnly price. I know it's early, but Nicholas will ask.
- Priya RamanTotally fair. We'll talk numbers once we've seen it on your data, that's the sensible order. Happy to make this easy for you both.
- Jenny TretheweyOkay. He'll want the total, not a monthly figure.
- Priya RamanNoted. I'll be clear on the total when we get there.
- Jenny TretheweyGood. Zoe's going to ask about permissions too.
- Priya RamanThen Hannah's the right person. She'll cover that as well.
- Priya RamanQuick check, are you still happy with the timeline we've talked about?
- Jenny TretheweyYes. Nothing's changed on our side.
- Jenny TretheweyI think that's everything from us. Thanks, Priya.
- Priya RamanThanks Jenny. Okay, I'll send the notes and the invite today. Speak soon.
- Jenny TretheweySpeak soon. Bye.
- Priya RamanBye.
