What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Proposal call with Rufforth Bakeries. Melanie Scaife and Brian Kilvington want a Growth subscription signed before the end of January. Proposal total is £60k plus VAT. Brian wants the split, terms and any discount in writing.
What happened: Lewis Kerr walked through a Growth proposal with a total of £60k plus VAT. He promised a written quote splitting annual from one-off, with the connector list and terms.
Customer view: Melanie is keen and the team want to start. Brian, the finance director, is conditional: "If the numbers hold up." He needs the split clear before his board sees it.
Commercial: Growth covers forty users and eight connectors, and four are discussed, so there is headroom. Brian asked for thirty-day terms and a discount; Lewis offered only a first-term discount within limits, with no figure given.
Watch: Brian wants the quote sent to him first. Security questions at this tier come through the solutions team, and Brian wants to know now rather than in January.

- Four connectors against eight, and users added in blocks of ten, leave room to grow.
Transcript
- Lewis KerrGood afternoon, Melanie, Brian. Thanks for making time at the end of the day. Just so I'm clear, you want a Growth subscription, and you'd like it signed before the end of January, is that right?
- Melanie ScaifeYes, that's the plan. We'd like to get it signed before the end of January if we can.
- Brian KilvingtonIf the numbers hold up. I've got the proposal in front of me, and I'll need to go through the split.
- Lewis KerrOf course. The proposal total is £59,500, plus VAT. I'll split that into what's annual and what's one-off, so you can see the subscription and the implementation separately. I'll put that in the written quote today.
- Brian KilvingtonRight. Is the subscription billed annually in advance, or can it be quarterly?
- Lewis KerrAnnual in advance is the default. Quarterly is available on request, and I'll put the schedule in the quote so it's clear.
- Brian KilvingtonAnd payment terms? I'd like thirty-day terms.
- Lewis KerrThirty-day terms are what we work to. I'll confirm them in the order form under our standard agreement.
- Melanie ScaifeCan I check the scope? Is it the same as what we saw at the demo, the complaints, orders and credits?
- Lewis KerrYes, the scope covers the complaints, orders, credits and the accounting data, all in one view, inside your own Snowflake account. Is there anything from the demo you'd want to add or leave out?
- Melanie ScaifeI'd want the retailer answers to show their sources and dates, the way they did in the demo. That's the bit that matters to the team.
- Lewis KerrThat's in the scope. I'll make sure the proposal says so explicitly.
- Brian KilvingtonHow many users does this cover? I need to know if it's enough for the whole customer service team and the credit team.
- Lewis KerrThe Growth tier covers forty users and eight connectors. I'll confirm how that maps to your team in the quote, so there are no surprises.
- Brian KilvingtonEight connectors. Which ones are counted? I don't want to pay for something we don't use.
- Lewis KerrFair. The connectors we've discussed are the CRM, the helpdesk, the orders and the accounting data. That's four, so you've got headroom. I'll put the list in writing so we can agree it.
- Melanie ScaifeGood. What happens if we need more users later?
- Lewis KerrYou can add users in blocks of ten, and we'd look at it at the next review, so you're not paying for seats before you need them.
- Brian KilvingtonAnd the implementation is one-off, as I understand it?
- Lewis KerrYes, the implementation is a fixed fee and one-off. I'll show it separately in the quote, so it's clear what recurs each year.
- Brian KilvingtonGood. That's the question I need answered before my board sees it.
- Lewis KerrUnderstood. I'll make the split clear, and I won't quote anything from memory. Once you've got the written quote, come back to me with any questions and we'll go through it line by line.
- Melanie ScaifeThat works for me. The team are keen to get started. Thank you for the demo, it helped a lot.
- Lewis KerrThank you, that's kind. Next steps: I send the written quote today, with the split, the connector list and the terms. Brian reviews it, and we book a short call for questions.
- Brian KilvingtonFine. Send it to me, not only to Melanie.
- Lewis KerrOf course. Melanie, I'll copy you.
- Melanie ScaifeSorry, can I ask one more? Will the quote mention the security review at all?
- Lewis KerrNot unless you need one at this tier. For Growth, the security questions come through our solutions team, and I'll confirm exactly what you need before I send the quote.
- Brian KilvingtonGood. I'd rather know now than find out in January.
- Lewis KerrAgreed. I'll put that in the email too.
- Brian KilvingtonGoing back to the price, is there any discount available?
- Lewis KerrI can look at a discount for the first term only, within our limits. I'd rather not promise a figure on this call, so I'll come back to you with the options in writing.
- Brian KilvingtonFine. That's all I've got for now.
- Melanie ScaifeThanks both. Speak soon.
- Lewis KerrThank you both. Speak soon.
- Brian KilvingtonOne more thing. Can I see the quote before our next call?
- Lewis KerrYes, it's going out today, and I'll send it to you first.
- Brian KilvingtonGood. Thanks.
