What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Callie Brennan trained Carl Ibbotson and Jodie Burkinshaw on search, chat and pages. Carl found it quicker than his spreadsheet. Stale CRM data surfaced, the accounting connector still waits on access, and no second admin is named.
What happened: Callie ran a 90 minute session with Carl and Jodie, who drove on his own driving clients. Carl said the chat was quicker than his spreadsheet and the quiet-clients question gave names he would not have thought of.
Customer view: Carl said search is what he would use every day and chat when he is stuck. He saved a page called Friday round and will say honestly whether it saves time.
Watch: A closed role and a wrong consultant owner both traced to stale CRM data, which Jodie will fix. Carl asked whether candidate data is in B-Viz, and Callie has not yet confirmed it.
Commercial: The accounting connector is still waiting on access. Jodie is still working on a second admin.

Follow-up
Next steps
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Callie to send the setup note tonight with the connector list and the candidate data answer.
- Jodie to fix the CRM items and tell Callie where the candidate data lives.
- Carl to keep using the Friday round page and report honestly whether it saves time.
Risks
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Stale CRM data, such as a closed role still showing and a wrong consultant owner, could erode consultant trust.
- Candidate data, where Carl spends his day, may not be in scope, and Callie has not confirmed it.
- The accounting connector remains blocked on access and no second admin has been named.
Opportunities
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026- Carl is a credible internal advocate, and his Friday round page can be shared with other consultants.
- Adding accounting data would put invoices beside roles and help Donna see which clients will rebook.
Transcript
- Callie BrennanAfternoon, Carl, afternoon, Jodie. Can you both see my screen?
- Carl IbbotsonAfternoon. Yep, I can see something. Is that the front page?
- Jodie BurkinshawI can see it. Hello. Sorry, I'm eating a late lunch, I'll keep the camera off.
- Callie BrennanEat away. So the plan for the session. We've got a good while, so I'll show you three things in order: search, chat, and pages. What I need from you, Carl, is to drive. I'll show it once and then you do it on your own clients. Sound alright?
- Carl IbbotsonYeah, fine. As long as I'm not stuck in here all afternoon. I've got candidates ringing me.
- Callie BrennanUnderstood, I'll keep it practical. Let's start with search, because it's the quickest win. Type in a client name. Pick one of yours.
- Carl IbbotsonRight, I'll try one of the haulage firms. Typing it in now.
- Callie BrennanThat's it. You'll see the open roles, who owns the account, and the recent notes from the CRM. Anything that looks wrong?
- Carl IbbotsonHang on. That role closed weeks ago. Why's it showing?
- Jodie BurkinshawI can answer that one. I think the status isn't getting updated in the CRM, so it's the source. Let me check it afterwards.
- Callie BrennanGood catch, Carl. That's exactly what I'd want you to say out loud. B-Viz shows what's in the connected system, so if the CRM is behind then the answer is behind. Jodie, make a note of that one for the setup list.
- Jodie BurkinshawNoted.
- Callie BrennanNow chat. This is where you ask in plain English. Try something like, which of my driving clients have placed someone in the last few months?
- Carl IbbotsonTyping. Quite a long sentence. Is that all right or do I need to use particular words?
- Callie BrennanNo, talk to it like you'd talk to a colleague. If it's too vague it'll ask you back.
- Carl IbbotsonOh, that's come back with a list. That's a lot quicker than my spreadsheet, I'll give it that.
- Jodie BurkinshawIs that the whole list, or just the ones with notes against them?
- Callie BrennanGood question. If you click the source link beside each line, it takes you to the record it came from. Try one.
- Carl IbbotsonRight. Yeah, that's the CRM record. Okay. So I can check it's not making things up.
- Callie BrennanExactly. And I'd always do that the first few times, until you trust it.
- Callie BrennanLet's do a few more together. Carl, give me a question you'd normally spend ten minutes on.
- Carl IbbotsonHm. Which clients have gone quiet. I ring round on a Friday to see who's not sent me a vacancy for a while.
- Callie BrennanPerfect. Ask it just like that.
- Carl IbbotsonIt's given me five or six names. I know three of them already. The others, I wouldn't have thought of.
- Jodie BurkinshawThat's useful for Donna as well. She's always asking which clients will rebook.
- Callie BrennanYes, and it will get better once the accounting data is in, because then you'll see the invoices next to the roles. That connector is waiting on access, which Jodie is chasing.
- Jodie BurkinshawI've chased. Fingers crossed for this week.
- Callie BrennanNow pages. These are saved views you can come back to, so you don't retype the same question every Friday. Take that quiet-clients question and save it as a page.
- Carl IbbotsonHow do I do that? I can't see a button.
- Callie BrennanTop right, the three dots. Yes, there. Save as page, then give it a name you'll remember.
- Carl IbbotsonCalled it Friday round. Done.
- Callie BrennanLovely. Next Friday, open that and it refreshes with the latest data. Nightly refresh is done before the working day starts.
- Jodie BurkinshawCan the other consultants see Carl's pages?
- Callie BrennanYou can share them, yes. As the admin you decide who gets what. Which is another reason to have a second admin, but we talked about that last time.
- Jodie BurkinshawI'm working on it.
- Carl IbbotsonCan I ask a daft question? Is any of my candidate stuff in here? Because that's what I actually spend my day in.
- Callie BrennanNot daft. At the moment it's the sources we've connected, which is the CRM and soon the accounting system. Candidate data depends on where it lives. I don't want to promise something I haven't checked, so let me look at the connector list and come back to you.
- Jodie BurkinshawI can tell you where it lives afterwards. It's another system, but it's connected to the CRM in a roundabout way.
- Callie BrennanGreat. Send me that and I'll add it to the note.
- Callie BrennanRight, I'll stop talking now. Carl, for the next stretch, work through your own clients and shout when something doesn't look right. Jodie, you keep a list.
- Carl IbbotsonThis one has the wrong consultant against it. It says me, but it's been Dean's for months.
- Jodie BurkinshawThat's the CRM again. I'll fix the owner there and it'll come through overnight.
- Callie BrennanGood, that's one for the list.
- Carl IbbotsonOkay, I'm getting the hang of it. The search is the bit I'd use every day. The chat I'd use when I'm stuck.
- Callie BrennanThat's about right. Most people end up that way round.
- Jodie BurkinshawMy list's got four things on it. Two are CRM tidying, one is the candidate question, and one is the closed role.
- Callie BrennanThat's a sensible list. Let's go through them quickly and agree who does what.
- Callie BrennanSo to finish. I'll send the setup note tonight with the connector list and the candidate answer. Jodie, you fix the CRM bits and send me where the candidate data lives. Carl, keep using the Friday round page and tell me honestly if it saves you time.
- Carl IbbotsonI will. If it doesn't, you'll hear about it.
- Callie BrennanI'd expect nothing less. Thanks, both.
- Jodie BurkinshawThanks, Callie. Speak soon.
- Carl IbbotsonCheers. Bye.
