What this says
As at Fri 9 Oct 2026Proposal call on 16 Jan 2026 with Leanne Partington. She backs the idea but says price is not hers. The £60k deal total covers subscription and implementation. The 20 Feb 2026 close is a target only.
What happened: Sophie Ling covered Growth scope, the four connectors, the build team and the commercials. Leanne is the internal sponsor but not the budget owner.
Customer view: Leanne said "Though I'll say now, price isn't mine." She wants access limited so key account managers see the credit position but not the whole ledger.
Commercial: The deal total of £60k in the proposal is the Growth subscription and the one-off implementation fee together, not an annual price. Call recordings are left as a later addition.
Watch: The budget owners have not been met, and Leanne would not commit to the date. The evidence does not show who they are.

Transcript
- Sophie LingHi Leanne, can you hear me all right?
- Leanne PartingtonYes, loud and clear. Sorry, I'm just closing a complaint, give me one second. Right. Done. Afternoon, Sophie.
- Sophie LingAfternoon. Happy Friday. Busy week?
- Leanne PartingtonDon't ask. One of the drinks brands had a pallet arrive with crushed corners, and the buyer rang me before the driver had even left the yard. Which brand, which line, what did the customer see? That was my whole Wednesday. Anyway, it's sorted, we're replacing the cases.
- Sophie LingThat's exactly the sort of thing you wanted in one place, isn't it. The order, the complaint and the invoice together.
- Leanne PartingtonYes. That's the whole reason I keep pushing this internally.
- Sophie LingGood. So today I'd like to walk through the proposal properly, so you can take it to the rest of your team. I'll cover scope first, then the shape of the implementation, then the commercials, and then we agree who does what before the end of the call. Does that work?
- Leanne PartingtonWorks for me. Though I'll say now, price isn't mine. I'll listen, but someone else here owns that conversation.
- Sophie LingUnderstood, completely. I'll keep it short and put it in writing for them.
- Sophie LingSo, scope. You're looking at the Growth tier. That's built for several teams, and in your case that's customer service, key accounts and credit. The idea is that all three look at the same brand view: orders, complaints, calls, emails and invoices, queried inside your own Snowflake account.
- Leanne PartingtonRight, and that's the bit I like. Nothing leaves our environment.
- Sophie LingCorrect. We build and run it inside your Snowflake, so your data stays where it is. Your IT team will want to confirm that, and I'm happy to join a call with them.
- Leanne PartingtonYes, please. They'll have questions. Mostly about who can see what.
- Sophie LingSure. Access follows the roles you set. Credit might see invoice detail that a customer service agent doesn't, for instance. We can set that up during the build.
- Leanne PartingtonMm. Let's be careful on that one. Some of our key account managers would want the credit position but not the whole ledger.
- Sophie LingThat's a fair point, and I'd rather capture it now than find it in week five. I'll add it as a scoping note. Can you tell me who in credit would decide what's visible?
- Leanne PartingtonOur credit controller. I'll get you a conversation with them next week.
- Sophie LingLovely. Now, connectors. Which systems do you want in first? From our earlier calls I had the order system, the helpdesk, your mailboxes and the accounting system.
- Leanne PartingtonYes, those four. The call recordings too, eventually, but let's not boil the ocean. Complaints and orders first. If we can answer what happened on a given order in one question, I'm happy.
- Sophie LingThat's a sensible order. Each connector in the order form carries a commitment to be live within a set number of days, so I'd list those four and treat the call recordings as a later addition. Otherwise we'd be promising more than you need on day one.
- Leanne PartingtonFine by me.
- Sophie LingOn the implementation, Growth comes with a fixed-fee build, and it runs over a few weeks. Anya, our solutions engineer, would lead the technical side, and Amara Obi would be your customer success manager once you're live. She looks after adoption and the quarterly reviews.
- Leanne PartingtonGood. And who from our side do you need? I only have so many people.
- Sophie LingRealistically, one person who knows the order system, one for the helpdesk, and you as the sponsor. Not full time. A couple of hours a week in the early weeks.
- Leanne PartingtonI can do that. The order system person is the harder one, he's stretched. I'll ask.
- Sophie LingLet me share the numbers so you've got them. The deal total in the proposal is £59,500. That's the Growth subscription and the one-off implementation fee together, so please don't read it as an annual price. I'll split it out clearly in the written version.
- Leanne PartingtonOkay. I'm not going to comment, as I said. I'll pass it on. Can you send the split in an email I can forward?
- Sophie LingOf course. I'll send it this afternoon, with the scope notes, so it's all in one document.
- Leanne PartingtonOne more thing. If we start and it doesn't work for the credit side, what then?
- Sophie LingHonest answer: that's what the order form and the first review are for. Amara would check usage with you and we'd adjust. I won't pretend it's risk free, but most of the risk is in the first few weeks, which is why I want the credit controller involved early.
- Leanne PartingtonFair enough. I appreciate you not just saying it'll be fine.
- Sophie LingOn timing, we're pencilled in to close on 20 Feb 2026. Is that still realistic from where you sit?
- Leanne PartingtonProbably. It depends how fast the people who own the budget come back. I'd rather not promise a date I can't confirm. Let's say it's the target.
- Sophie LingThat's fine. A target, not a promise. I'll keep it that way in the forecast.
- Leanne PartingtonWhat will you need from me after today?
- Sophie LingThree things. A name for the order system contact, an introduction to your credit controller, and a conversation with someone in IT about the Snowflake side.
- Leanne PartingtonRight. I'll do the credit controller first, since that's the one I'm most worried about. Let's close it today, at least the list of names.
- Sophie LingPerfect. And from me: the written proposal with the price split, the scoping note on visibility, and a suggested time for the IT call. All by the end of today or first thing Monday.
- Leanne PartingtonBrilliant. Anything else?
- Sophie LingNot from me. Thanks for the time, Leanne, and I hope the weekend is calmer than the week.
- Leanne PartingtonFingers crossed. Thanks, Leanne. Sorry, thanks, Sophie, I mean. Speak soon, bye.
- Sophie LingHa, no problem. Speak soon, bye.
